    You could close the web browser.

    Still not having a centralized update system is a pretty big failing of windows. I am not suggesting a store, but a repository system like that used in linux where I can add the chrome repo instead of having some stupid updater.

    Also morally superior. I see no reason to make us all murderers.

    Sure, but current criminal law practice is to make everything sound rather grandiose. When most people think of WMDs they think of weapons that can cause real mass destruction. Things that kill thousands or millions.

    If it only kills one out of every 100 crews, as an example, their made be no need to bother with additional expensive shielding.

    We do not need a risk of 0, just acceptable rates of crew loss.

    If you do that with a stationary magnet you will be very safe.

    Once you realize space is mostly empty you might start wondering again.

    Also your calculation makes no sense. It assumes that this whole volume must stay micrometeorite free, when only the volume the ship is in at that time has that limitation.

    Why exactly do you need to keep the magnetic effects out of the inside of the capsule? Assuming you don't use magnetic storage or something.

    Humans do not seem to be negatively impacted by fields of many Tesla.

    What are the actual odds of being hit?
    Are they that frequent outside our ring of garbage?

    Some amount of crew loss is going to be acceptable vs spending infinity dollars.

    If the cost was low enough yes, I think the honor system would work.

    The problem with cable is not only the outrageous cost, but the stupidity of broadcasting in 2013. I want to watch X now, not in 30 minutes when you decide to broadcast it.

    You can ignore me though, I refuse to pay for services that also have commercials. Watching advertising is a form of paying, and I dislike paying for something twice.

    The vast majority of PS and Xbox games are crap, lots of shovelware. So long as the best games can be found from the crap, it works fine.

    Android games now are pretty much casual because of the devices they are played on. Once you have a proper console there is no reason more involved games can't be brought over.

    It has prevented me and several other folks from buying them. Might not have hurt it much, but surely there are some lost sales.

    Any modern controller will have a touch screen and an accelerometer.

    Far better would simply be a requirement for the game to support controllers. Then people could run those on their phone too provided they had a controller.

    Hunting rifles were not that hard to get when I lived there. Pistols sure, but hunting rifles were pretty easy to get.

    This. Even with no DRM still not worth it.

    Hell, they mail you disks you can copy all you like and no way could you get caught. Still very few people bother.

    If you are in it for a living you might as well not waste your income on DRM. Because clearly it does not do a damn thing.

    The goal of DRM is laughable on its face. It does not work. You know what does though? Charging a reasonable price and not worrying about those who would have never paid.
