have a good laugh?
more like shank his sorry ass...
Prisoner 1: Shit, my mah tells me about that shit all the time, drives her ass crazy getting all that spam. Take this BITCH!
right, not to mention the fact that atleast in the U.S. the road and/or sidewalks are government property and considered an easement. so if this guy was infront of my house for several hours, yeah, i'd be wondering what the fuck, but i would likewise know that he's not on my property and there's shit all I can do to him for just sitting there in a parked car...
now, what would make sense, which is what the person with the access point in the story obviously lacks, is that one would probably put two and two together and go "hrm.. i wonder if he's on my wifi net?" and "how about i disable it and he has to go elsewhere" rather than "OMFG THEFT, POLICE!!!!"
sad state the world is in...
no different if I went out and bought a Microsoft program and started sharing it with everyone in my apartment. It's theft'
or better yet, continuing to use her flawed analogy:
It's like buying a Microsoft program, and leaving the open box, with the jewel case and installation media on the sidewalk in front of your house then bitching when someone walks by and installs it.
Yeah, not to mention that the last time i checked the ATM fee at those places was sky-high. I've seen some 9.99 and 11.99 fees on those. I was drunk as hell and I'm reading the screen going "wait, where was that decimal point?"
har! a girl that knows pi to enough digits to notice that... hrm...
aah.. and according to your profile on yer website.. single too..
and due to this thread, answers 21 and 22 on your geek test are rather fitting;)
add a trailing "5" and you've got what i know... 32 places.
what's funny, is i just "happened" to memorize it to about 10 or so, then i actually put an effort to know it to 32... next is 64;) 02884197169 is what i'm "working" on after the 32.. you segment it enough you can memorize anything...
your sig: pi.. the last digit is wrong:P it should be a 6 not a 9 not a rounding thing either, the digit after that is a 4 so the six would stay a six.
and yes i know it off the top of my head to 32 digits
and yes, i am a nerd
no i don't have a girlfriend
Attitude control? The article states that he lost attitude control as he left the atmosphere. For those of you that don't know: attitude control is granted be the moving control surfaces of a plane's wing, and "tail" area. Wait, wait, unless SpaceShip One had tiny "thrusters" or "puffers" then the moment there is no air to affect the control surfaces, then they are essentially useless. The shuttle uses these tiny thrusters (many of them) to change it's attitude when it's up in orbit. It is possible that these engineers failed to think of such a simple thing as lack of an atmosphere for the control surfaces? Last I checked I didn't hear anything about it having any thrusters.
.. is the fact that the article says that it is backwards compatible with older MMC devices. I don't think this will be the case, I have a cheapo mp3 player for my phone (Sony Ericsson mp3 hands-free, the OLD one not the bluetooth one) and the device came with a 32 meg MMC, when i tried to get a 128 meg MMC card, it didn't work. Sony Ericsson said that the device is so old, that 128 meg MMC cards weren't even thought of. I doubt this 2 GIG MMC would work with this "older MMC device". Anyone else have the same experience?

I don't think it's that bad actually.
I've been watching TechTV for years on Dish network now, and I don't think that the G4 merger is that bad for several reasons:
The Screensavers was not the same without Leo hosting it, and I also enjoyed with Megan, Morgan, and Jessica were all on TSS. For me, the show hasn't been the same since then.
Call for help hasn't been the same post-chris perillo.
TechTV was still on a relatively short programming loop. I recall watching a rerun episode of TSS and seeing it again that same day before the new one aired! It would always work the same way: TSS, TechLive, Freshgear X-Play, rinse, repeat. That and did anyone else notice the ultra-long blocks of Robot Wars? Frequently would I turn to Channel 191 (dish) only to go "oh look.. robot wars again... oh, look, already saw this one..."
Not all of the G4 shows are crap, I for one like ICONS and ARENA, did anyone else dig the ICONS show on Final Fantasy? They actually talked about FF3 (FF6 US)! I also really like all of their E3 Coverage.
That's not to say that everything that G4 has brought to the table is pure gold. I for one don't like the people on the show: G4TV.com and believe that it's the show that inspired this.
For all it's worth, I think that the merger has expanded the tediously short programming schedule. I for one enjoy watching less repeat episodes of Robot Wars.
What the submitter has to note is that just because a business has done well brick and mortar doesn't mean that they can copy that success in an online environment. Anyone remember Egghead?
As the above poster commented, I too don't see this taking off as well, not only because of the competition and the fact that people will probably always be able to download for free, but what puts the icing on the "this probably won't take off" cake is their selection of WMA as the distribution format.
What needs to happen is a happy medium, biology chaning the face of computing, and computing doing the same for biology. Advances will be gained in both this way.
I'm just waiting until someone clever, like TiVo or another PVR company, creates a commercial that is running in/60 slow-motion so that PVR viewers see it in real-time;)
That would be amusing, and it would be of benefit to the advertisers in two ways:
1) The obvious, and already mentioned fact that PVR users would see it in real-time.
2) Non PVR users would see one *very* long commercial.
Then again many places (such as where I live, SW Florida) have an admission charge for jail. It's 20 bucks I believe. Of course it begs the question: "What if you don't have $20? Are you released?"
300 titles? maybe one of them will be a game where you, the lone programmer on a daring mission into the depths of hell (i.e. the basement of Microsoft headquarters) try to develop a web server that won't crash.
I did the math, and you actually save a couple of hundred bucks getting the "ultimate" set...
and by doing the math i mean amazon did the math

too bad we don't offer an accident policy for computers.. by the sounds of this thread everyone could use it...

About time, talk about a legacy format.

Heh.. looks like they managed to get the server running quickly again :) check out the Netcraft OS History. Quick Apache update...
The /. effect on webservers. Obviously starting with their own.
