What this is *not* in any form is a general purpose CPU. It won't boot linux, plain and simple.
So why is this on slashdot?

I have a 250GB harddrive connected via USB to my PC. Its an easy way to transport large ammounts of data very fast but i have one problem with it. Some of the data i use is sensitive and so i want to encrypt it. But there seems to be no way to get all of the following: - encryption - files > 4GB - accessable (read/write) under linux and XP
Before you trot out all your legal objections, just let me say that you now have a legitimate reason to talk with the cute girl three doors over you've never met.
yeah, nothing impresses cute girls more than "i have EVERY SINGLE tv show aired last month and if you come with me i'll show you my t1". got tons of girls with this line
I switched to firefox one month ago and i'm still considering going back to opera.
My reason: Opera is fast. I mean really fast all the time. Firefox is fast if you don't use the extensions that you need to get the same comfort that you're used to from opera. I need tabbed browsing, session saving, duplicate tab and mouse gestures. With these extensions (and adblock) firefox is really unbeliveable slow on my system (1,8GHz, 512MB RAM). Opening a new tab takes up to one second before i can type a URL.
So why do i not simply switch back to opera? Greasemonkey, RIP and extensions in general (firefox was already slow without them so don't complain why i didn't list them above). Being able to extend my browser is a great thing and i'm still hoping that it'll be doable in a sane speed sometimes....
Try pulling the kernel tree and you'll understand why darcs is not really an option. I use darcs too and like it but its simply too slow for anything bigger
This looks really neat but i assume that its just useless eyecandy. Just like transparent terminals, fading windows etc. If you look for a real window *manager* take a look at ion http://modeemi.cs.tut.fi/~tuomov/ion/. Doesn't look as nice but does some work for you instead of just impressing your friends.
no, law isn't supposed to be equal for all. to stay with your murder analogy: if a persons with a iq 70 kills someone he's (at least here in germany, might be different in e.g. Texas) treated differently than a person with a normal iq
this statistic shows that marijuana up to 2ng/ml decreases you chance to cause an accident. available only in german, so use the fish or just look at the graphes "Relatives Verursacherrisiko" (i know you were not serious about your numbers but i just stumbled upon that before reading slashdot)
Google isn't dead? I just tried to find a list of acronyms used in sms. It was just impossible, really every site was a fake. Google might be useful for geek-related searches but you can forget it if you want to search something that is "hip" right now
This is my reason to stay with opera. I use ion as wm (give it a try if you like working with your keyboard instead of your mouse) and kill every window i close (so i can close every application with one touch). With opera this is no problem because on next startup i have everything like it was before but with firebird all tabs have gone.

Remove it Permanently http://rip.mozdev.org/ you can do much with adblock but this is also very nice

> I could play minesweeper in my head.
got the same with doom (my really bad gaming time). i really could play the game when i closed my eyes. was quite handy for school though
emerge sys-devel/prelink was there for a long time
CPU bottleneck? Just create a video showing what you describe
I searched for the german equivalent.
