Holding the perpetrators accountable is a big part of "learning how to overcome obstacles, no matter how unfair they may be." Basically, it's a form of standing up for yourself.

Unlikely. NASA should focus less on political activism and more on engineering a long term plan for a permanent, productive presence elsewhere in the solar system. If we're going to keep the organization around then that is the role they should play. Semantic arguments over the word 'planet' are as completely unproductive as this stunt.

RH has had its detractors for years, way back to the 90s, so no, it's not just Canonical/Unbuntu or Gnome 3 and systemd. The Gnome project itself is also no stranger to criticism. Distro choice has always been a divisive subject for a variety of reasons, mostly boiling down to technology decisions and the commercial/political aspirations of the vendor.

The "you're just a hater" excuse is a fallacy that shuts down discussion. It's used by those who don't want to address the criticisms made.

I'd rather these easy-to-use tools are made and distributed because they highlight the vulnerabilities (software and policy) required to get them installed. Software vendors and governments don't want them highlighted, the former because of image and the latter because they hoard them as munitions. Neither attitude is beneficial.

The last thing society should do is depend on law and law enforcement for system security. I bet they use RAT (or something like it) too. If it's ok for them, then it's ok for everyone else.
