It's not 'problematic' if it was true. The only way to respect equal opportunity on merit is to abolish policy that plays favorites on irrelevant attributes on some assumption of bias. killing off affirmative action would be a good start.

Denying the problem is not automatically a 'microaggression', especially when the denial is truthful. That's why this kind of language is always seen in these 'behavioral guidelines.' It's to silence criticism, giving one side the trump card at the expense of the other. "Your policy is bigoted!" "No, it's not, here's why." "See! your denial is proof!"

Expecting a sanitized, politically correct cleanroom environment is NOT reasonable. Criticizing these expectations and demands is not bigotry. The only way you'll be able live in the kind of echochamber that allows such 'progressive' communication is if you get all of those SJW types to both finance and host it themselves (instead of expecting the taxpayer to do it).

Right. The software handling such input would be the OS, or at least its shell. We had that already too, it was called 'Active Desktop' and it sucked horribly. Today, they call it 'semantic desktop' and it still sucks. For whatever reason, MS, apple, google, and others keep trying to bring it back, and make it stick where it doesn't belong.

Well, I think autocad was used as an example and not as a complete list. The point being that most people expect to be able to run whatever software they need on their machines. Since most of their time is spent interfacing with proprietary software stacks at work/school and for hobby/entertainment use, linux is of limited utility. Sure, linux is fine for web browsing, but so is everything else. There's actually quite a bit of useful software out there in OSS land, but the unfortunate reality is that software is not usually the industry standard. It's certainly possible to use linux as a desktop for personal use and be productive, in fact, much more possible than it was a few years ago, but it does not replace systems that do run industry standard software like autocad/adobe/etc. Most users don't care what os they run, they just want access to the software they need to run.
