If the U.S. were an authoritarian country akin to Singapore, Egypt, or China, it would be illegal for me to say something like "I think George W. Bush is a poor leader and should be replaced as soon as possible." However, that is not the case.

    YET!

Because a website has always been a "public face" to the world. It is a 'mostly' static information repository, much like a book. Calling someone on the phone is different. The author's of books don't normally give explicit rules on who can read their book, or how to read it. If an author wants to do this with his book, he doesn't let the public have access to it!! Maybe that's why webpage writers are usually called authors. If you want a public webpage, don't place rules on how it is to be used. If you don't want the public to use your page other ways than you intend, don't make a public webpage!!

April 20, 1999; this was the date of the Columbine shootings. Quake 3: Arena "official" demo released on Nov 16th, 1999. Quake 3: Arena released in North America on December 2nd, 1999. Please correct me if these dates are not accurate, but it's what I found with a quick Google search. It seems about right too, but I'm not sure. Anyway, you can eat right, eschew violence, not smoke, never cuss, exercise, follow every law known, etc. etc. ad nauseum, and you'll end up just as dead as the rest of us.

And don't forget the ability of Microsoft to "administer" her machine. XP's EULA states you must give them access to your machines. And, don't forget (search their site, http://www.microsoft.com) that if you want to remove XP from the machine, you are supposed to throw away ALL the hardware. Oh, yeah, you have to get their permission to even use XP for more than thiry days.... I could go on, but some one will think this to be flamebait, while those who research Microsoft will know it to be the truth.

That is very true, however, this distro could still fit on one of the smaller round discs, which would fit in a shirt pocket, and won't cause any grief, as nearly every CD drive made will handle them.

You should read "The Command Line" by Neal Stevenson(sp?). I for one am really tired of people who say " '____' is okay for techies, but not the average user." If a person wants everything spoonfed to them, and not have to learn anything, or expand their horizons at all, buy them a TV, set them in a corner, and let them rot. Corporations view human beings as merely 'consumers'. No longer is a person a person, or even a customer. Merely a 'consumer'. A conveyance for money to transfer from the person's wallet to the corporation's coffers. All the efforts of advertising, adding features, etc. are merely fluff to speed up the money flow. Governments view people as merely votes. They no longer even attempt to represent people. ALL politicians have their own adgenda to push, which differs in method only from the corporations. All they want is money (and power) from the people. It is sick and wrong, and by saying " '___' is only for those geeks, or gearheads, or whatever, but not for the average person" you perpetuate the great lie, and demean, devalue, and debase your fellow humans. If being average means a person cannot learn, then maybe it is time to have an asteroid knock us into the sun.

I use the internet for information: how-to's, pictures, articles, file downloads, etc. ALL javascript, activex, etc. is disabled on my machine. Why? Because no matter what I'm looking for on the internet, if it is on a page with that crap on it, I can ALWAYS find it somewhere else that doesn't use it. I have NOT gotten one popup ad in two years, and, while it may take me just a bit longer to find a driver, picture, etc. I have NEVER had problems finding the content somewhere else. (No, I don't bank online, or belong to any 'exclusive' passworded sites.) I have clicked a few banner ads, as they link to something of interest to me, but there is NO reason for "content" providers to use anything but HTML. The internet was/should be about free exchange of information, NOT about exclusivity. If you want that, use mozilla's source (or something else) and write an exclusive app for connections.

I think you might want to check your power supply if you are running hot. I have a 1700+ that stays at 104 degrees(f) all the time. Even after 8 hours of fragfests, it only goes up maybe five degrees. I am running a stock OEM CPU fan, and 350W P/S, with one case fan that came with the case. It is nice and quiet.
