I have a 12" g4 ibook with 768MBs of RAM that runs OS X nicely and for the most part i have no complaints about it's performance. Does it play games well not really, but OS X is snappy and it does what i need it too.
So in short, famously runs slow with less than 2GBs of RAM is a pretty bad exaggeration.
Why do i want themes? I would much rather have a clean simple music player. Though having a music player that automatically scan a specific folder for new music is useful if your music libary changes all the time.
And so we get to a elect a new administration. One choice will trample our freedom from unauthorized search, the other will trample our freedom to own guns. Pick the lesser of two evils.
We are screwed period,
And as for your signature, it's not that the government can't save you, it's that they won't.
Americans, what's the best way forward to make my voice heard?!
1.) Form a political party
2.) Take lots of money from special interest groups.
3.) Sell soul
4.) Profit!
5.) Rule the country with all the money you have made. Profit even more by making sure the special interest groups feel special.
But really your best chance is to form a group and get your message out, write your politicians and cross your fingers.
I see this going down like this.
McCain will complain about fair use and the DMCA, the RIAA and friends will "lobby" and all of a sudden McCain's camp will stop complaining. It would probably go down the same way for Obama.
I don't beleive that the candidates are really the issue, just part of the system, I blame the parties.
The political parties in this country have really mucked things up.
These days financial institutions consider IT (and other) security as something that costs them money, without giving them any benefit.
Will this wake them up?
I hear the question "Can we afford"? when talking about security in IT shops. The question that I am coming back with is "Can we afford not to"?
Just how many more banks machines are compromised? How about Federal and Local Government's machines and networks.
If you had enough financial data somebody could cause an economic collapse - I wonder what it would look like.
For most financial institutions their primary goal when it comes to information assurance is to pass audits. As you stated security is usually a cost center and they do what ever they can to keep that cost down. This generally means doing just enough work to make them compliant and as well all know, compliant != secure.
I do not beleive these incidents will change anything unless the financial institutions are forced to a higher standard.
I will continue to hope that they will see the light.
The minute i saw HAL i thought of HAL 9000 and thought, that's unfortunate.
$2,200 a month is steep, but my guess the price will come down, and add government assistance it might be with in the range of some.

What about pointed sticks?
Lets just ban hands and feet. That way pointed sticks can't be used in a crime. I would hate to see pointed sticks become history.
hyperbondage
Was funny, Although i did enjoy the Cow taking a bite out of it's own hoof, though I doubt the cow is is favorite animal.

This slashdot story was posted to get us to use Paranoid Linux, which can only mean that some one planted a backdoor in it.
Your just saying that to try to get us not to use Paranoid Linux or are you trying to use reverse psychology to get us to use it.
