Where has all the semi witty slashdot drivel gone?
I was expecting to be entertained, because this topic is obviously wrought with irony, but instead all I get are these boring insightful comments. You people are pathetic. I hate you.
Moegar ftw!
The point of certification is that people who are certified will more likely be qualified than people who are not certified, period.
Of course there are specific problems like the ones you mentioned above, but that is no reason at all to scrape the entire system. Without statistical evidence that these situations occur very frequently or infrequently (which neither you nor I have) it's almost pointless to argue about it.
You can make the same argument about a number of things including diplomas, degrees and medication just to name a few.
It's a pretty wide distribution of both national and local companies it seems, to me at least.
There have been a lot from around the Midwest - I have mainly been trying to concentrait on ones from Chicago. And I have had one interview in chicago, but I also have two interviews over Winter break elsewhere in the country.
One in Redmond, WA;), and a company called FactSet who is in Conneticut. Most out of state companies have been from calafornia or in the southwest.
I am a Senior at Purdue University - West Lafayette, IN and in May I'll be graduating with a BS in CS. This is my first semester looking for jobs and I can't believe how many interviews and offers I am getting, with how bad the economy is supposed to be. Also, everyone I talk to at the job fairs says the situation is much much better than in previous years. Companies are actually looking to hire instead of just collecting resumes. From my persepective the job market is pretty damn good. I know come May that I'll have job lined up, the only questions are where and for how much.... nic nac patty wack give a dog a bone
As soon as I saw this artical I had no doubt that some half-wit slashdot reader, with 20 points into idiocy and another 30 into overused jokes, would imediatly post a comment remarking about the lack of "intellegent life" on earth. But the truely sad part to me is that some of these posts got rated with a score more than 3.
So in conclusion: Intellegence does exist on earth, just some people are lacking. I know if I worked for some program whoes purpose was the search for "intellegent life" elsewhere and I heard one more joke with the same theme about "intellegent life" on earth, then there would defintly be one less intellegent lifeform on this planet, because i would toss myself out of a window.
Personally i hate games in which you completely defeat them and you get a nice big dick in the ass "Game over". That is what happens when you die from not being good enough at the game. "The end" is a reward from mastering the game and not being able to go any farther, hence "the end". Not to say this person reached the end of the game, and not to say he didn't deserve a "game over", but i am venting my frustrations with such games such as final fight for snes, or super smash brothers
If I were to post "The only constant is change", would that have any relevance here? Na... probably not, so I guess I won't post it.
... in my pants
Yeah, I'd rather play a nice game of chess than watch this piece of crap...

How the hell am I going to play the next smash brothers with that thing?... I just don't see it working at all. Dear God I hope I am wrong though.
