  1. Cuneiform on a 101 Key Keybord? on Why Johnny Can't Handwrite · · Score: 1

Mr. 0.000000001% (or others): Could cuneiform be easily used on a reasonably sized keyboard? And how fast is it to write, once you know all the characters? It seems to my unformed eye that many ancient languages use complicated character sets that are good for a highly trained elite, but not good for use on machines. Could this be an exception? Ignorantly yours, med

Even if the numbers added up on this deal, social factors are prohibitive. All the major wind farms I've seen are in remote and undesirable areas. There are two related reasons for this. First, the land is cheaper. Second, and more importantly, it avoids the unholy bitching that happens when you do anything industrial near somebody's house. I think a modern windmill is a beautiful thing, but nobody else does. Windmills will only be useful in a distributed, efficient grid. That, and good for disposing of morons and Darwin worthy birds.

For God's sake call up the guy that is trying to make this work and tell him about your experience. I don't have the knowledge to argue from a technical viewpoint, but I know leverage when I see it! If it gets him cheaper MS crap, so much the better, it is cheaper on its own, great. I'm sure the tax payers will love it either way.
