Innocent until proven guilty only applies to criminal cases. In a civil lawsuit such as this the plaintiff only has to be slightly more convincing than the defendant. It's called "budern of proof by a preponderance of the evidence"

LCD Price Fixing?
·
· Score: 4, Informative
I recently bought an 18" LCD for myself from *insert major computer manufacturer here*. I am a purchaser for a university and our inside sales rep was nice enough to provide me with their approximate cost. No guarantees here by any means, just what our rep told me.
For this 18" panel retail is $599, the university's price is $480, and cost is in the neighborhood of $375. About a 60% retail markup.
In comparison, a 19" CRT retails for $249, discounted is $211, and cost is around $205. About a 20% markup.
I don't expect the huge markup to end anytime soon, everyone is picking them up like hotcakes regardless.
Okay then, IN MY AREA people should GET OFF THEIR ASS:-)
My main point is that the media isn't always, or even most of the time, fully informed. Do you really think there should be some huge shortage of jobs in one of the fastest growing industries? How many millions more people/companies use computer products and services each year? I really see alot of companies going, "gee these computers really aren't working out, lets throw them all out and use typewriters and filing cabinets again!"
I keep hearing all these stories about there being "no jobs" but I just don't see any shortage. I live in the Portland area and I've had to turn down a few job offers this year. I have a few friends that recently graduated and couldn't find jobs, but all they do is put their resume (devoid of any experience) on monster.com and expect their phone to start ringing. All I can say is get off your ass and find a job. It sure isn't going to find you.
Sorry if I sound harsh but this is what I'm seeing...
I left a system administrator position of 3 years to go back to school. They call me in quite frequently to help them "decypher" some of the things I set up, or to just fill in when someone is away. I usually charge them $85/hour, which is a good deal in my opinion, as I can get the job done in much less time than someone unfamiliar with the system. I would never offer my time just "out of the kindness of my heart", hehe. It's not like they can't afford it...
I'd rather be writing a sig...

Now we can all watch the Air Force burniniate Iraq in HDTV quality :-)
I think huge bombs exploding will produce a sufficient psychological effect...

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when spiderman and shakira are the most pressing issues people want to research on the internet.

Who else thinks the kernel patch contents would make an excellent t-shirt?
