I guess this sheds new light on the three letters GPL. Really it is/will be general *Public* license. Governments contributing to the public infrastructure(software).
It would be great for the Ximian people to incorporate the Exchange-compatibility KOrganizer has with that of Evolution.
And why not.. it would also be a good idea for someone to make the Exchange-calendar backend for linux also (tie it with IMAP I guess.) I know it probably is not a standard (or an MS one at that) but having an organizer-calendar work in the same way as your IMAP email is really great.
(I do miss this functionality say in Evolution when using IMAP. My calendar data is not kept in the IMAP server.)

Does anyone else see the possibility that major OSS and specially the Linux OS will end up being managed (or controlled big time) by governments? The level of funding a government can have surpasses that of copmanies or donations. Will this have any impact on the direction development will take? Can this have any negative impact on the long run? (of course it is all advantage for the forseeable future)
What if it is sensitive data? Do you think even with all that cryptography and secure computing blabla people will trust storing their important files on other people's computers? think not.
There are companies who put their backups into safes... ask *them* to put it online on a slashdot reader's PC. See what they answer.
Freenet and similar networks are only good for general [public] domain data
What about Obelisk ?
obelisk
n.
1. A tall, four-sided shaft of stone, usually tapered and monolithic, that rises to a pointed pyramidal top.
2. Printing. The dagger sign (), used especially as a reference mark. Also called dagger, obelus.
From http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=obelisk&r =3
BTW do a whois obelisk.org...
Now if David Braben and his company would get this new concept of AI into their forthcoming (if ever coming) Elite 4 and add in concepts from Morrowind 2 and fractal generated planetscapes with fractal generated cities and civilisations (You will be able to land on planets and do stuff in Elite 4)... that would be The Infinite Game
Supposing that this app does indeed install without user intervention (I doubt it... not even a lousy IE install confirmation dialog?), what differentiates it from a virus?
Can programs like this be considered a virus? If so it would be interesting to see them get sued just like virus-creators are caught.
IMHO this type of programs can even be worse than a virus. A virus sometimes destroys or degenerates its host. But these apps suck and abuse the host.
I can't imagine how low the price of the whole system would be in China. Can you imagine units (CPU/mobo) sold for 50 euros/$ or so ? I would want to have a few of them. Any chance of any contacts ? Anybody willing to import them ?:)
