GIMMEE would be nice. Well, nice for awhile and if they didn't get weird with it. Don't know if that could happen though, nature of man and all that philosophical stuff. Goes along with the current VoIP articles. They would dominate the net then if they implemented that. I know I would pay cash to them have a universal works great, any OS VoIP and no-spam, no commercial email service.
So far we know they have just a cubic load of servers, the most on the planet most likely with one private company. The government probably has more, but it's a mish mash of them, not near as sleek or coordinated, AFAIK. What COULD be next with them, practical cheap 50 dollar thin clinets that you could do a TON on, using distributed computing, from games to communication to running any business? With tech savvy like they got and their already established heavy hardware base and heavy committment to R&D, they could just 'splode with an extra 25 billion in cash all of a sudden from an IPO. OR, the money could get to them and they become just another weird company that forgets it's roots as "brains come first" and switch to "marketing crap comes first" like certain other unnamed megacorps do now.
...will they do. the next step in this obvious progression is forced implantation of ID chips along the design of digital angel, or maybe with even more advanced "features" that you won't really like. I've read what they are working on, and it isn't hard to imagine what the controllers really want, is it? So what then? Just take it? This isn't a joke anymore or any sort of gee whizz might be coming in the real far away future, this could be here any day if they feel like implementing it by law, the tech is here already.
How do you say NO forcefully enough if it's illegal and you have a population that is effectively disarmed completely and has a police and military force that will follow any orders given to them without question? Sometimes the law is just so blatantly wrong that you have no recourse.
I mean, just about anyone can smell this coming next, in GB, in Canada, in the US, eventually everywhere by governments. Governments may be slow, but they eventually get around to using every sort of advanced technology for the "command and control" aspects of society. Well, just run a very conservative extrapolation here, you can see what's coming next.
How could they do this without monitoring all data streams extensively, and determing somehow "gee, this is voice and this isn't", etc. And tracing them to individual IP addresses? Just throw some random numbers at the whole internet? I mean, speech (and video) between people over the net has been around a long time, CUSEEME as an example.
This sounds more like some sort of random tax that still won't allow what you want to do with your machine, just like the blank CD tax/fees you pay still won't let you completely off the hook with the RIAA MPAA goons and their pet legislation they inspired, even though it was supposed to.
The only way to keep the net free is just that, no taxes on it for any reason. It's slippery slope, once the government gets a money toe hold on it, eventually it will be highly regulated.
And speaking of taxes and unnecessary fees, why can't we get unbundled POTS yet? Why do I have to pay all these ridiculous fees I see on my phone bill to use a phone line just for the net? I don't use it for anything but net access. I certainly can't get unbundled copper, no negotiations there as far as I know without jumping through a ton of ridiculous hoops and expense. I guess what I am asking is, why can't I be my own isp with just a pair of copper wires, why do I need all the extra fees and go through someone who has a fat pipe, is there any technical reason they can't throw some switches, etc, and just let me use PPP? Is this an artifical blockade they put on it? I honestly don't know the answer to that, not familiar enough with how it is set up at the local telco or how this is arranged beyond getting an assigned IP and/or domain name and IP. Would it be technically possible to just buy an IP directly, and eliminate a couple of middleman steps? I've never worked at an ISP or anything so I don't know what steps are involved with access and hardware and software and protocols.
you see, that's part of me in the above. Not all of it, but it's accurate. I've never had an IT job, never made more than lower middle class pay at best. With the exception of two short term sales jobs, I've always labored, some skilled, some very skilled, some just plain human forklift action, and I am a small human as dudes go. Many of the jobs I developed skills at evaporated, had to learn new ones, accumulate more tools, more expertise, re start over at the bottom, then-wham, something happens, start over. 5 years ago it was getting a paralysed arm, knocked me out of my two concurrent jobs, lost my home, actually moved out into the street for some months eventually as I just went broke over 6 months. Arm got better enough to the point I can work at MY pace, but not on a CLOCKS pace, just can't do it. Finally got a job I could do that came with housing, same as I have now. I am LUCKY now I found a job with a guy who will still hire born-here legal americans, because he could be like most of the other turncoat profiteering scumbags and hire the illegals, who are all over the county I am in. He's honest, pays fair for what I do, but it's lowest rung stuff, but I can still exist. If I have to drop down any lower, or drop to NO job, I will be forced to beg or go outlaw, neither an attractive proposition, and I am lots closer to what would be retirement age than what would be considered "entering the workforce" age.
Frankly, I just can't relate to some of the other hard luck stories I read here. I can sympathise somewhat, but it's theoretical to me, I simply cannot fathom having that kind of money and being broke or stressed out. I know it's possible of course, but still, no frame of reference, best I can do is show other levels of stress that are quite possible, and mine is by no means the worst.
the blue collar guys, for 20 years+ now, begged their brothers the white collars to just please take serious as the jobs were being destroyed. We got ignored, laughed at, told to STFU and etc. We moved, learned new skills, tried it again, over and over. We were going to be "trickled down" on, which consisted of getting pissed on our backs and told it was raining. Now I can see it's happening to people with absolutely no comprehension of how abysmally bad it can get to, or how stressful it can get to have nothing. I wish them well, and good luck, because if they can't see what's coming to this nation, and to THEM, even with all that college training and white collar experience and IT smarts and high IQs and whatnot, then there's nothing anyone can tell them, they just won't be able to see it coming until it really bites them, and hard, and they will have less frame of reference to deal with it than a person like me would have dealing with all that plenty and calling it stressful..
it's small as laws go, but I saw a glaring loophole here:
SUCH COMMUNICATIONS ARE COMPUTER FILES THAT DISPLAY
7 ALL OF THE KEY STROKES THAT A COMPUTER USER MAKES.
some goon spyware shop just eliminates the letter q or h or a few more, they can slide by and still easily read the keystrokes for most purposes. Should be struck and changed to ANY keystrokes instead of ALL keystrokes then.
Besides that it's an attempt. Hard to describe spyware though legally, isn't it? And what's data, personal data? Say I don't want ANYONE without my permission (and paying me a fee and getting a license) to be able to identify my architecture, operating sytem, etc. I could call that personal data, and it is really. whoops, just wiped out the ole intarweb there.
Maybe a better way. I dunno, let the smarter guys chew on this one.
Make it illegal to transfer any data in or out of my box without the permission-granted by me by a normal http or similar transfer protocol request from the box itself, or by a signed digital signature granting license for specific services, said license being avaialable by a certain request, the "ping of what's cool to do or offer" request we'lll call it before it gets mush mouthed. Doing it, transferring unwanted data in or out of my box with an executable won't matter than, it will be covered if it hasn't been licensed in advance by MY license, not theirs, as well as any external flooding, overflow attempts to get root, whatever. Seems like it would anyway. Simple,to the point, covers most anything illegal. That'll cover quite a bit, and also make all unsolicited email illegal as well.
OR, bring back dueling, make it legal
OR, pass one law, every 20 years all politicians are fired, they may never hold any elective or appointed office, nor may they be hired-on to government, no work as a lobbyist. along with that, all previously passed laws are null and void, a national "jubilee" (in the classical/historic sense) is declared, and we start from scratch all over again with the basic bill of rights and constitution.
Solve all this crap every 20 years painlessly. Every generation should have their own chance to screw up equally, I say.
something slower than jets, but much faster than an ocean liner, in short, bring back dirigibles, make em BIG, *real comfy*, full net and phone access, lounge, restuarant, etc, have sleeper berths, etc. 10 days or two weeks to cross is way too long, 16 hours or whatever cramped up is nuts, I'd like to see a few days in real comfort and cheap. They could follow the old idea of the clippers, travel using the tradewwinds, just supplement it with power perhaps. or whatever, no idea on jetstream action or anything across the pacific.. But seems like making a dirigible function and working and affordable is a lot better and easier than trying to make your loot over 100 passengers at a time going real fast at some humongous expense when you cannot readily solve the sonic boom thing, just slightly reduce it. What was it on the concorde, 1500 clams one way across the atlantic?
Girlfriend worked the concorde as a stewie coupla times, she said it was neat, she said you are so high up it's almost like night time in the daytime..
... they were trying to drum up support from some newsies for a news short on TV, sort of free advertising. Playing the odds figuring so many reporters/broadcasters whatever were there, some one might have took an interest in it. My guess anyway, or someone back at SST headquarters sent them to the wrong show! Might have happened....
Of course, ya never know. I worked tradeshows for 15 years, I have seen some thoroughly weird stuff, and some incredible stuff that just disappeared, never heard of it again. One I remember though, it had to be that dean whassis his name with the segway, his earlier invention, the super wheelchair thing that could climb stairs, and was either voice activated or breath pulses activate, along with a normal joystick. Slickest thing ever, had a tiny cheap 10 foot backwall booth, just pipe and drape and a table, on a medical show, about the cheapest booth there and definetly the best tech on the show that I saw. Another time on a car show, lamborghini had a booth, this was before the explosion in giant SUVs, they had this incredible 4 wheel drive vehicle, with the v-12 engine in it that was in the countache, etc. Dang car was NICE, I mean, r-e-a-l nice, most plush and most rugged thing I ever saw for a passenger vehicle. Cheap old 20 foot of carpet, no booth, just the best vehicle in the show and a little sign on an easel said lamborghinni, that's it, they didn't need no blinken lights booth.
might be. Might be on 16 tapes,3 tapes, one tape, only on hard drives, offsite someplace overseas out of the reach of subpoenas perhaps. We don't know, there's no hard nor fast rule there. Might be emails only, or faxes. Might not be anything, oral only, casual conversations that weren't recorded. the deal is, it's a serious return shot across the bow aimed at microsoft directly, even though it's passing these other ships on the way. Maybe it, along with baystar bailing, will be enough to get microsoft to call off sco, buy them up maybe, let it just go away. MS has gotten too many black eyes lately, even with so called sucesses, even the pointiest headed of bosses knows there's something fundamentally rotten going on there, even if theyhave been using them forever, they GOT to be getting antsy about what's up with them. ME, I'd be afraid to be in business with them in ANY capacity, they are the original back stabbers, taking it to a higher level art form..
can't tell ya how to struggle by with 50 grand a year and sit in an office for long hours. I CAN tell you how to put it into perspective. quit your job. Now go get a job like a mason's tender, or in a chicken processing plant, or working landscaping, or an a black topping road crew, something like that.
Now work for a month.
Every friday, STARE at that check, notice the slightly differerent number sequences that what you are used to. Now notice your backache, your dangerous sunburn, the cough you are getting from road dust, the sight of a thousand chickenbns hanging on hooks in front of you in a never ending stream that never quits. Now explain to wifey why you will be needing to a smaller home, and maybe the ride is kinda steep, go looking for a one grand junker with 200 thou on it. Now go to the grocery store and notice that everything but the cheap stuff is off the menu if you like eating 7 days a week. Now notice what a movie or DVD costs in termsof hours of labor. Now notice that you will still have bosses who are jerks, who will get on your case, tell you it needs to be done by yada yada, and you know it should take 4 yadas to do that. Notice now that even though it's 90 degrees out today, and tomorrow it will be thunderstorming, you'll still be "at work" and the climate control seems to be broken perpetually, it s a bit more random than what you might be used to. Now notice that full coverage insurance you are thinking about more because of that guy they hauled off yesterday with the crushed foot, and which you will have to buy yourself will cost you 1/2 to 2/3rds your check if you actually expect it to do more than the bare minimum band aids, and forget any income replacement or anything like that. Now notice all the people who are very hard to understand who are working next to you, and are living a dozen to an apartment, and all come to work in one old ratty van. Now sit back and watch the nooze at night and realise the two big choices you are being offered next november when you vote are both multi millionaires, people open doors for them and do their yard work and cooking and whatnot, they always have their choice of champagnes or lobster, and that they ain't sweating the note on nuthin, and notice how2 sincere sounding they are and they "are sympathetic and *just like you*, really, and they will help you, really and truly, not like those past dozens of times when we said it and it didn't happen, but this time it'll be different!"
REALLY think about that for awhile.
Think about that for awhile as you go to bed two hours earlier than normal because you can't hardly move anymore, and somehow finding time to go "workout at the gym" doesn't seem to be all that important or worth the cash they charge for it.
and etc, etc..
There's stress, then there's stress, besides that employment exercise, can't help you much. Good luckski!
--been waiting for this. We all knew that SCO was most likley a stalking horse for microsoft. IBM now has enough they got on their own to go fishing in a pond they know is well stocked. this isn't blind fishing either, they KNOW there's tuff there. They waited until they developed enough intel to know they'll get more, the big fat juicey smoking gun stuff.
And YES, it just might turn out to be microsoft anti trust round two coming up out of this if it plays out like I think it will, and this time, they might get broken up and more real finage than they can painlessly handle. I HOPE the stockholders choke on it, too.
Too bad though,no marshalls and raids for the loot, the shredders are going to be burning up now. Maybe someone will crack and keep back some good stuff in hopes of getting a deal later on.
Connections, an interersting series on PBS I used to watch, seems to follow this discussion pattern.
Your quote "What if reducing CO2 production causes such global social and economic strain that a new World War breaks out, resulting in a nuclear holocaust wiping out everything?"
I think it is highly probable given the nature of even the most optimistic opinion of the status of proven oil reserves, the projected global population growth, and the surging demand for western style consumerism lifestyles by the majority of the globe that has never had that... that you are correct, we WILL be fighting major wars over oil (and fresh water), oil is related to the CO2 levels but quite frankly, we aren't going to give up oil until it's all gone, so we stand a good chance of major war or wars over it. It's safe to say that the current and past middle east various conflicts have to have "something" to do with the oil there, yes?
And there's never been a major/effective weapons system devised by man that wasn't eventually used *extensively* in warfare. Never happened yet, it always gets used finally, in big ways. It's a matter of when, not if there.
We know about nukes, and now they are all over, jenni is out of the bottle there. Conventional warfare, check, advancing by leaps and bounds, a true global growth inmdustry, positive profit margins to be had by all.... Chemical warfare, check. Biological warfare- we have some attempts at it that have been documented, we can speculate on some others, but there'sn o denying that they have more than ample resources now to cook up some interesting bugs. Who doubts this is happening as we speak?
I think the nukes will wipe out a lot of humans, then the bugs will do the mopping up. In between, a lot of your normal old starvation and misery and whatnot.
Michio Kaku, the theoretical physicist guy, thinks that sentient species like humans have roughly only a 1% chance of exisiting much past their finding out about uranium, and fooling around with it. I tend to agree with him, on a modicum historical scale, say a maximum time limit of several generations from first use.
Human society and the "civil" part of civilization usually doesn't keep up with just raw technological advances, we can see that in the past, so it's a safe assumption to conclude it will continue into the future. I sincerely doubt wars will get less technologically efficient, or that world leaders will all of a sudden be cured of megalomania, or that scrambling for the remnants of the planets natural resources that are in the "take me, I'm almost free" state will be suspended: therefore, it don't look so good...
...think I just won't shut up. Think I'll keep pointing people to some real data, like the firefighters on the scene who reported the explosions going off in sequence right before the building collapsed. I'll keep pointing them to independent, un connected civil engineers who say "it just couldn't happen like they say it did". I'll keep telling people that the victims im building two were ordered to stay inside when they could have been evacuated. I'll keep telling people it's the first time that jets weren't scrambled immediately when a hijacking weas in progress. I'll keep pointing out data like the plane in pennsylvania had a significant quantity of itself 8miles away from the crash scene, when no way in heck could it have bounced there, and the eyewitness reports who reported "some unknown plane" following it at close range at the same time, something the government still denies.
And stuff like that. Nope, not shutting me up, or shutting up other people either.
There's lots more, LOTS more, any search engine out there is slap fulla links to news articles and views and dataon this subject. The above is just a small sample of the real info out there and the interest. I can guarantee you neither I, nor all these other people are going to "shut up" over this reichstagg-fire coup d'etat that took place.
But,thanks for the opportunity to reply! And it doesn't bother me a whit to be called names, or be disagreed with! After you have been beat, gassed, threatened with death, been lied about in court, had evidence planted, and various things like that...plus getting to know quite a few insiders in the system who are willing to talk off the record and clue you in to some *quite interesting things*, people who are honest people and true patriots... well..anything someone on the net can say to you is sorta silly in the way of "hurt", as in "neener neener". It just won't work, but thanks for playing!
Everyday, people all over the net are reading similar posts, and going to look for data for themselves. That's how it should be, take a gander at the evidence, see what ya think, it's the american way and stuff. And someone is going to read this, maybe not reply, but go look for themselves, and get hip. It's a good thing.
Here'sone idea:class action suit filed against the FCC for rubber stamping the networks broadcast licenses for decades. It's not supposed to be automatic in theory, in practice, it IS an automatic renewal. Part of the reason they get their lucrative licenses is to serve the publics interest,NOT just to "make a profit", and no matter the probable millions of complaints they have received over the decades, none of them have lost their license to print money off the public airwaves. It's the FCC's fault in that. IMO, just their total failure to routinely carry "news" of third parties and independents, to really give some in depth information. Look what you can find on the net, then contrast that with the 6 o clock headline snooze. It's pathetic.. they occassionaly do it,follow through, do some real reporting, but not much, not really. then it falls away to nothing, parroting the current party line. We have seen that when they DO carry news of credible third parties, by golly those candidates get some votes. When they occassionaly DO some serious in depth much raking, well muck gets raked. If they kept it up constantly, eventually we could break the stranglehold of the two party is really one party system, that owns the government now, top to bottom, open it up, get some real change out there. That's something every person in the political spectrum, left, right, center and otherwise, who is honest, could support. Cover it ALL, let the chips fall where they may.
... you are trying to blackmail or extort them. they might think that, no matter how you word your missive to them.Your word against their word then if anything happens. Then it might be better that you release your information publically,as soon as you have it, but you won't know about how the former way would work out until you tried it, and you might get burned by the "shoot the messenger of bad news" philosophy. I garner from reading here and there sometimes-not always but random chance sometimes- companies just plain don't like having flaws pointed out to them. Consider the history of back orifice for instance.
remember those hokie Mr. Microphones? I got one at a yard sale several years ago for 50 cents. I used to prop it up in front of my speakers, tune into a net radio station I couldn't get otherwise, and broadcast it out to me with my radio headphone set when working in the yard. Worked great, I just wish I could find the dang thing again, lost it in the move someplace. I *could* do it with one of my FRS radios, but that's pushing it and sorta illegal. Doing it with wifi is OK as a concept, but a 5$ regular radio is better, if it's possible where you are. I guess if you are already toting around a PDA or laptop every place and live in some city with overlapping wifi hotspots it makes more sense.
Wonder who has the best deal on the low power FM transmitters? hmm, that Mr. Microphone was some AM freq I remember, but FM would be nicer, especially if they made a real cheap one. the ones I looked at were all over 100 clams, I need something that will do 1/4 to 1/2 mile and be *cheap* and have a clean adjustable signal so it can be adjusted to not interfere/slop over with a real station someplace.
Jet fuel doesn't get hot enough to melt steel or soften it enough for it to lose structural integrity. There's quite a bit of civil engineers who have spoken out on this collapsed building subject from burning jet fuel, anyone may find those articles with a little intelligent searching. It didn't happen the way they said it did. And there was no way for the fuel at the top floors, mostly vaporized by the 500 MPH impact and quite clearly burning UP THERE to get downstairs in the first place.
And I repeat, but I won't post any links to video clips to poor guys servers from slashdot, but there's a video coming out soon that can be found by looking on google where you can see and hear the firefighters freaking out over the charges they hear going off. the goons thought they had all the audio canned, they missed some though. And you, again, can find testimony from those guys at the scene that contradicts what their bosses press releases state. go look for it. That place and event was a setup,it was a "conspiracy", it really happened, but the details as pushed by the juntaists in power is not the full truth. And 9-11 was a staged event for political control purposes. Way too much evidence out there to ignore it. Where's the names of those airlines stocks trading puts options, who bought them? They admit it happened, yet no names offered, no arrest there, yet they can easily find that information. Why? Why did mayor willie brown get warned off from flying by his friend condi rice the day before? The first time ever NORAD doesn't get scrambled when there's a hijacking.. and now this week they finally admit to the wild ass story of running a "hijacking and plane smacking into a building drill" song and dance on the same day... please. The plane that allegedly "crashed" in pennsylvania with debris 8 miles away, like that stuff BOUNCED there that far. Please... Government now claiming there was an "intelligence failure" yet they come up with detailed names and events of "the hijackers" like two days later. Although it turns out a lot of those names are still alive guys....and a lot of the other ones that no one can find have a paper trail that goes right back to US spooks and facilities, like pnesacola naval air station. And no video of them guys getting on the planes, even though the airports have video cams installed and running... Please.... FBI agents actually doing their jobs and getting great intel on real badguys being ORDERED off the cases, in multiple areas, independently of each other... please
On and on and on. I invite anyone to just use google, any combo of keywords on this subject if you have not done so.
And I'll pass on any more AC trolling on this subject. At least here this info can get out and be looked at by many many people, unlike places like neoconjob republic and dorks underground where embarassing items that might embarass "their team" get the memory black hole treatment.
My thanks to slashdot and the owners and editors for providing this uncensored forum!
... and that is a very real possibility. Thanks for the article. Wonder why they don't release the photos though? If it's just a camera glitch? No notice in the article if that has happened, if so, my apologies, just haven't seen it, and it'simpossible for me to keep track of everyhting, try as I might.
I'm not saying it was shot down with some death beam, I just find it funny (funny odd, not funny ha-ha) they do these things. I work, very reluctantly, from a default skeptical position of:
-government has been caught in so many critical event lies that you should always be suspicious. I WISH I didn't have that opinion, I would much rather spend my time doing something else, if I didn't think it was so important to constantly monitor what they do and say, for obvious reasons, plain old fashioned patriotism and wanting to NOT see my fellow humans screwed over all the time. I do my best as a teamof one guy to do this. Spend a lot of time doing it. If I get updated and corroborated data,I am more than willing to accept it, adjust my position, and move on, acknowledging the changes most readily.
It's their fault, because they have the proven track record of being chronic serial liars, all the way from very minor issues that don't mean much to covering up murders, on both a small scale (assassinations and other sorts of individual persecutions) and on to a mass scale (illegal trumped up wars based on total lies, instigating coups all over, illegal experiments on civilians and their own employees in the services, etc).
When they stop doing that,I'll stop pointing it out, or pointing out circumstantial clues or anecdotal evidence that might point towards illegalities or coverups, etc. Balls in their court all the time on that, their move.
...industrial hemp, the stalks in particular. You could harvest 50% of the stalks a year for ehthanol conversion, and plow under the other 50% back into the soil to keep the "tilth" up. Your soil for growing is just a big carbon cycle, you put carbon in, have plants, sunlight and water give you an increase in how much carbon you can take out, either food or fuel or for other purposes like manufacturing plastics or whatever. It's always a net gain, it's hard to make it NOT a net gain, as the solar (fusion power we have now) gets delivered free of charge and is pretty reliable. No wires or centralised monopolies required for it, cool beans there. And grown products store readily and are safe, example, I can accumulate "stored solar" in the form of my woodpile, by passing all the middlemen, do it on-site, and it's quite a nice fuel, and they have modern exterior to the home furnaces that are multipurpose you can get now, heat, hot water and electricity, all from your wood.
If the process for this ethanol conversion can be gotten to the homeowner sized status, and they can make both the DEA cowboys and the BATFinks back off from it, it would be great! I could easily use the big chipper here, use the extra branches from the trees I cut, and use those chips to make my fuel for use in the truck, tractor, chainsaw, etc. Even as an adjunct to normal store bought fuels, if you could cut it 50/50 or whatever it would be valuable.
Quite a few years ago there was a similar project, that used bacteria to breakdown cellulose and they released methanol instead of ethanol, an even better fuel, albeit more poisonous to handle, but I have lost track of that project and I don't know the status of it.
Another really super project going on now uses some specific strains of blue-green algae who's waste product is hydrogen gas. THAT has some good potential as well, say an enclosed pond or pool of the critters in some water and some composted biological matter suitable for their nutrient needs.
there's a HUGE variety of technioques out there, what needs to happen is every homeowner make the committment to do SOMETHING to adding to the enerrgy pool, rather than just being a consumer only. Once that mindset gets better established, we will all profit from it, from more R&D and so on. We just need to show the big guys and government we are serious about it, and the only way to do that is to go for it, not wait. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder. Leading by example is always more effective in the long run.
This is just like the early home computer years, we need energy pioneers to make the commitment to "just do it", knowing full well it's not perfect now but it will get better over-all the more people who take a direct hands-on interest in the whole subject.
--if the e-voting scheme is advanced enough to conform to all the ways of producing the actual true count with complete verification, seems like it would default to being able to easily collate who voted for who, which blows anonymity and would instill a set of "political correctness" via fear into whomever is voting.
I don't like it, it's too weird, too expensive, to hard to make it honest accurate and anonymous, and too easy to use the system as it stands for massive vote hijacking. When a few votes here or there can influence an entire election, even the "acceptable margin of error" is enough to skew the results in someones favor.
The simple paper ballot and empty box is not perfect, but it's the simplest and easiest and most fair system devised yet. All this other stuff is just the trend- a fad really- to computerise everything, even when it's not needed.
there's never been a skyscraper collapse like the wtc buildings from any fire, even fires that burned for days. No place. Never. And again, what plane hit building #7? How did that mysteriously fall down just like the others? And the video with the firefighters talking about it-they reporting a series of explosions right before the collapse- is about to hit the bigtime, you'll see it if you want to, it's out there now. They-the government spokesweasels- even lied about the firefighters radios not working at the time, now they admit they were working just fine.
The net is too good to get facts out now, the governmental coup plotters and liars are in spin and damage control now, so thanks for playing, but you fail it.
.... hasn't been caught conspiring to ONLY include their brand of shoelaces, and browbeating the other lace and shoe manufacturers to "follow their lead..or else", nor that shoes be so constructed that using another brand of lace makes your shoes fall apart, or to make the task of inserting new laces so difficult as to be near impossible without getting the "secret shoe lace instructions" that are "licensed" and "propietary".. and even if you get the shoelaces inserted, they constantly fall apart and won't hold a knot. There's the difference.
They got caught, with more than enough evidence, of being serious crooks and liars and have gone well out of their way to stifle competition using illegal tactics. It's more important for them to maximise profits at the expense of following the law or building functional products, or NOT building stuff that breaks other peoples stuff. Just reality. They are crooks, plain and simple. Just very wealthy and powerful crooks. If they WEREN'T, then we wouldn't have all these people pointing it out. If they hadn't strong armed the box vendors, then it wouldn't have come up. If their stuff wasn't designed on purpose to break other peoples stuff, no one would have brought it up. And yada yada yada, but they did all these things, it's pretty clear they have a deep seated corporate culture and mindset and practice of serious lawlessness that goes directly to the top guy, then goes back down and spreads sideways. And they accept getting busted because it won't matter, they can absorb any of the fines and still keep doing lawless acts, over and over again.
They need to have their corporate charter revoked, not just a pussy fine. I mean, busted, jailtime for gates and some others. gone, out of business. tough beans to the investors, maybe they shouldn't "invest" in crime, it's called being a skunk and being part of the crime. Anyone who holds their stock now and DOESN'T realise the company is crooked does not have my synmpathy, it's been proven over and over again. and if they do and still wish to "make money" off being crooked, being part of it,well, IMO they are just as guilty. Same with several other large mega corps,REVOKE their incorporation, that's the ONLY THING that willwork with this sort of thing, until "they"-the serial crooks still out there- get the message to stop being crooks and bullies just because they think they are big enough to "get away with it" and it's just "part of doing business". I got a clue stick for those people, it's quite possible to be in business and make money without being a crook.
.. and other viewers that display JPEGs, wouldn't the patent apply to them, if no license or fee has been paid? Has mozilla.org paid a fee, or opera, etc? Seems like this patent would apply to them too... Look at the stuff going on with MP3 and other disputed media types and patents and players. and they have some sort of precedent in their favor, some companies have paid them for their IP.
This crap won't stop until we (society, government, business community, etc) scrap software patents as a very bad idea upon reflection.
...pictures. Have you? Why weren'tthey released, they released all the other pictures, but NOT the purple flash ones as far as I know. As far as I know, again, they were never released, NOR given back to the photographer, and according to what I remember at the time, the reporters who saw them, along with the quotes from the nasa worker who first saw them and arranged for them to be transported by special jet back to texas, they were QUITE extraordinary.
REMEMBER this little gem. Remeber how the government SWORE up and down and sideways with all kinza tame scientists and cia analysis that TWA 800 had an exploding fuel tank, despite all the eyewitness testimony. Are you aware they very quietly admitted they were totally wrong last year, BUT, offered no other information about it as to cause or "who did it?". That story appeared like in two paragraphs on page 16 then disappeared again, leaving 99.99% of the people out there stuck with the impression in their minds that the "magic exploding fuel tank" story is still true facts, when it obviously ain't and they admit it now. Just like the magic 9-11 burning towers all falling perfectly down, despite no other similar occurrence ever with any similar towers and fire, despite actual eyewitness testimony and recorded video and audio of firefighters IN the burning buildings swearing there were set charges used, and despite the videos that you can see the poofs as the charges go off. they swear it's from burning kerosen fuel. Uh huh. ande building 7 was hit with which plane again, to have this fuel in it? Oh ya, IT WASN'T HIT.. Yes, that's available to view, but the mass conditioning media is not bringing that stuff up, nor is the 9-11 whitewash commision.
I REMEMBER details like that, crackheads don't remember squat. Crackheads deny what is in front of them, they can't see the elephant in the living room, they'll even deny it vigorously, just like career alkys.
of this plane,(45 thou maybe?) and how they heck can they use this in a direct shot at some place thousands of miles away? I don't mean how powerful the laser is, I mean, having line of sight to boost phase from someplace say in east_borscht siberia or we_love_rust china or something where the hostile missiles might originate? Whenever it came into direct line of sight seems way too late to me, but I don't know, just asking... Seems like they would need to bounce it off a satellite to be effective for those targets. Or maybe that ICBM deal is just a design theory and for public consumption, a "feel good" deal there to help sell it to the public, and it's really meant for direct shots to space, and just getting it up as high as possible to help eliminate blooming in the dense atmosphere at the surface and near to the surface. Higher you go, less atmosphere obviously, better your laser works. And even more speculative, maybe it's really designed as an air to ground closer range weapon, like a "super spectre" of some kind. they DID say it could be adjusted as to "spread" and intensity I guess, think zapping a battlefield full of "enemy combattants" and blinding them or burning them all at once over a big area perhaps, or other suitable targets.. rioters maybe, massive crowd control and siruption at a really safe distance, meant to put complete fear into people.
I dunno, just don't get it on hitting stuff way over the horizon "in time" with a line of sight weapon like that. To me anyway. Of course, I don't know at what altitude the missile separates stages to the actual payload, perhaps it's high enough then for line of sight shot.
Interesting times
...will they do. the next step in this obvious progression is forced implantation of ID chips along the design of digital angel, or maybe with even more advanced "features" that you won't really like.
Cheap old 20 foot of carpet, no booth, just the best vehicle in the show and a little sign on an easel said lamborghinni, that's it, they didn't need no blinken lights booth.
and don't get me going on booth babes.....
One can hope.

After you have been beat, gassed, threatened with death, been lied about in court, had evidence planted, and various things like that...plus getting to know quite a few insiders in the system who are willing to talk off the record and clue you in to some *quite interesting things*, people who are honest people and true patriots... well ..anything someone on the net can say to you is sorta silly in the way of "hurt", as in "neener neener".
Consider the history of back orifice for instance.
... too pick you up later!
remember those hokie Mr.
My thanks to slashdot and the owners and editors for providing this uncensored forum!
posting nothing that refutes the observation on high rises.
... and that is a very real possibility.
