I run Redhat for clients and on a couple of boxes at home but IMHO Libranet can't be beat. Using 2.7 and apt-get is a relief sometimes after putting up w/ Mandrake's and Redhat's rpm dependencies. The Adminmenu tool works great, even comes w/ a built in firewall. The installer is ncurses based and not as pretty as other distros but it works and works well. Hell, Libranet is the first distribution that I got Return to Castle Wolfenstein running on. Some problem or the other always crops up w/ Redhat. Also, the mailing list is well populated w/ helpful people. Not much RTFM comments on there.
Anybody know anything about SUSE and SCOs' relationship now? The last I heard they "were re-evaluating their position" or something like that. I am very interested in what Redhat and SUSE has to say...
I'm sure you've tried various different IDSs', firewalls, and whatnot but have you considered aother drastic change at the server level? OpenBSD as your server OS would probably bump your overall security quite a bit. And it's FREE.
What are the benefits of implementing this versus an OpenSBD box? I would think that OPENBSD has the highest level of security fanaticism needed but maybe Debian can top that:)
Guess the whole OSS community benefits.
Here's one the first hits from Google I got for Sweden whaling.
Seems like your knowledge is concentrated on the US. Looking at your history, my point remains valid. All of your posts of late on Slashdot are rats against the US. You seem to have no response to my suggestion that your stop complaining online and act on something you believe in.
Well, you're not contributing anything but complaints now. My point is that you turn EVERYTHING into a rant about the US.
What if I turned everything into a rant about Sweden's position on whaling which I don't agree with?
Seriously, go to k5 where political comments and subjects are encouraged but please don't ruin this site and don't use it to vent your own personal angst about a country's government.
Of course, you could always realize that you're doing absolutely nothing but whine and you could ACT instead of whine on Slashdot. There's a lot more to standing up for your beliefs than posting comments online, man.

I'm not in the corporate world yet so I don't know but what is holding back corporations from adopting OpenOffice or StarOffice? Excel? You can't say corporate support because doesn't Sun offer support for StarOffice?
OK, PROVE the US gov't is lying! The remark about the Marines was meant towards your overall whining about the situation in Iraq. Basically, act, don't whine on a technical news site.
If you're so passionate about your newest cause, why don't you get over to Iraq and fight the US Marines instead of whining on Slashdot about it? I'll say it again... another armchair reactionary.
So can you PROVE that the US is flying in groups of people pretending to be happy liberated Iraqi citizens? What's your source? Oh, wait, you weren't there were you? So you're just quoting random web sites, right?
Armchair reactionary......
I stopped sharing music a long time ago when I decided to try and support bands I like and obviously because these companies are out to get us. Now all I download is Simpsons, South Park, and Futurama which I'm not quite sure if that is illegal.
I'm just wondering if everybody else is starting to realize that are people out to get you! Kazaalite is starting to get dangerous. Watch out!
OK, I searched for Dunbar... Who here on Slashdot knows where the disappeared reference comes from? (Hint) Joseph H.. Seroiusly, I've been in the military 60 years after that novel was written and it still sounds earily like reality.
OK, speaking as an active duty Marine Corps grunt, the MOLLE sucks. The chest harness/load carrying gear is alright but MOLLE violates the most important rule-KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). I don't know how many broken MOLLE packframes I've seen and the amount of little straps and pouches I've seen lost or torn is unbelievable. YOU may like MOLLE gear but I don't and my organisation; the United States Marine Corps doesn't like it especially after the ops in Afghanistan when the MOLLE system failed miserably. THAT'S why the Marine Corps is replacing it. Thanks for the insults but I do know what I'm talking about. The first thing I did when issued the MOLLE gear was go out and buy a large ALICE pack (called a mountain ruck by Marines). Best pack I've seen in the military.
"Could enemies protect themselves from it by wearing reflective clothing?"
In a word, no. Tom Clancy said it best (IMHO) in Cardinal of the Kremlin. "A dancer could pirouette in front of a shotgun and it would do just about as much good. All of that energy has to go somewhere."
Also, reflective clothing isn't too good for cover and concealment:)

Tom's Hardware is currently recommending the geForce ti4200 for those looking for mid-range card w/ good performance.

Which ones? The Sharper Images or Gerry?
It was a pearl handled 1911A1, probably a .45. It was a Glock in the book, though :) Funny scene.
Just ask Pete Townsend

I'm just dreaming of UT2003 in 64 bits :)

Well, that answers my question. I'll just shutup now.
How long before Novell goes under? They seem to be having leadership problems like Sun and I doubt they have the cash reserves Sun has.

Dude, he didn't find it offensive, he just continued your analogy using the facts.
Ignore that asshole. Thanks for the good code you've released free of charge that has worked so well for me and others.
