Eyesore - figuratively and literally. Not only is this one of the ugliest, most mis-placed pieces of architecture in the metro, its reflective stainless steel skin blinds drivers crossing the Washington Avenue bridge in the late afternoon, when the sun is behind them and they're headed eastbound. Nice planning, folks.
You'd think that the U would just paint the entire thing maroon and gold to cut the reflection...couldn't be worse that what's there now.
They are unsuitable for use around HF radio gear due to their interference. Since I'm starting to work HF again, it means I can't use these in my shack area. Oh well. As far as pricing goes, Costco and Home Despot seem to have the best price around here. Besides, Costco's return policy is much easier than dealing with WalMart.
How come you guys in out-state get all the fun?:)
NB: I live in Minneapolis, am a card carrying Democrat, NOT a metrosexual, wish we still had the streetcars, and see nothing wrong with blowing the living daylights out of old computer equipment with heavy firepower:) Anyone got a spare bazooka?
Signed on with VISI in August, they've been great to work with. I've had maybe one hiccup since I've had them, and as soon as service came back up, they e-mailed everyone about what had happened, whether all of us were affected or not. They'd also been sending out status reports along with ETA's for repairs. That's good service in my book.

Working with ADHD?

The new drug, which my new nuero doc just put me onto is Provigil. I love it! I have an appetite, it doesn't make me as edgy or jittery. I've also found that it doesn't give me the lovely feeling of being dead on my feet but my mind has enough of an edge to keep me up. Another nice thing about this med is that where I was taking 10/10/5 then 7.5/7.5/5 mg of ritalin (lower dose schedule towards older age), I'd have to take it every four hours or so. I can take half a 100mg tab in the morning and be good for the day. Time will tell how this works for me, but for now, I like it.
I should mention I am 23 years old and have been in treatment for ADD/ADHD since I was in first grade. In my experience, at least retail, ADHD doesn't act as a problem unless I forget to take meds, which is rare.
Apple gives away the OS to teachers, thereby strengthening its position in schools and education (post HS is iffy). MS wanted to force schools to buy site licenses, IIRC. Who will win the public's hearts?

Well, you learn something new every day! Thanks for the link!

To take an idea from Tom Smith- "307 Ale me lads, 307 ale....the finest drink that any bar has ever had for sale...." Bottoms up! TDD
