At least the Germans are setting a date that is realistic, 2038. An not some "feel good" date of 12 years as stated by some newly elected dingbat. Of course by setting that far out most of the politicians set this goal will be long retired or dead.
And exactly what technological innovations are we lacking that prohibits this from being accomplished?
There is none. In fact with today's level of technology if we where to design and build roads for self driving cars it would be stunningly simple.
What I'm saying is the the current infrastructure in place we are not ready for self driving cars. We are trying to do this the hard way, which is to teach computer cars to drive like humans. With the current level of technology will not work. There are two many variables for the cars to analyze and do it safely 100% of the time. I can get in my car and drive two miles down the road and the road conditions will change completely. We are not ready for this.
I wouldn't mind if youtube would be a little more picky on its recommendations. Not to just base them off one video that I watch. I watched, really didn't even watch, more like flipped through, one flat earth video. Next thing you know I'm on the "youtube nutball" list. Everything from bigfoot raped my dog to Elvis is pumping gas down at the 7-11.
This is what it really is. We are not ready for self driving cars, the infrastructure isn't in place to support them. For self driving cars to be reliable the roads will need to be specifically designed to support them.
Not so much Amazon as Google. I really don't think I rely on Amazon that much. I buy the occasional book from them, and up until a few days I had Amazon prime. I just cancelled it because I really didn't use it that much.
I doubt I'll do 5 or 10 years but I'm looking at a few months, probably this summer or next. I've been meaning to hike the Application Trail, or at least a good part of it. I also doubt I will be completely technological free during this outing. I might carry a flip phone and a AM radio.
I listened to Wolfman Jack broadcasting from Tijuana, Mexico when in the California. "Fifty thousand watts of soul power!"
Now there is a name I've not heard in a long time. I used to listen to Wolfman Jack late nights. It was the only time his show would come through was when the local AM stations had to go to bed for the evening.
I don't think you understand the point. The most high tech thing I had on me was digital watch that told the time/date, and had a stop watch. The whole point of the exerciser was to be as free of technology as possible.
I would recommend it. Refresh the soul. I'm due for another outing. Time to make some plans.
A few summers ago I was able to block Google, Amazon, and Netflix for life for just about two week. I left the phone on the counter, no service where I was going. Put the tent, the sleeping back, and supplies in the back of the car. Pointed North and drove off for some hiking and camping.
Technology doesn't have to enslaved you if you don't want it too. It's just another tool.
The only purpose for these services is to mask your traffic to avoid detection by your ISP. In the end correlating your activities with the VPN service adds additional verification of your identity and evidence of intent.
That is a pretty good reason to run your traffic through VPN alone. Most of the spying is going to be done at that level. I don't want my ISP knowing anything about what I'm doing online. I don't want them knowing if I've surfing/., watching Netflix, or browsing Piratebay. If they don't then they can't shape my traffic to fit their purposes. Granted, my VPN provider could do the same but they have far less reasons too than my ISP does.
I have no delusions that a VPN protects me from any government snooping. I assume that if they want to snoop, they will have ways that a VPN won't mask.
I hear stories like this and think of the Drake equation. I wonder if things like this are an alien race discovering some hyper advanced technology, losing control of it, and having it destroy everything.
Also, I note that you don't actually have a counter-argument to my points, just a concession.
Actually, I did post a link to a article showing that it was 2.5% and not 3.5% so I think I did a good job there. But then again my point was not to counter-argument you. My point is simply to call you on your anti-American bullshit. Which I think I did a excellent job of.
This has been my position since day one. We are all in this together. But Amjo and the rest of the EU snobbery keep the "blame America" for all the worlds problems alive an running. Constantly the same thing over and over not looking at China, India or even Africa as a source of carbon emissions. Fact is America is doing damn good right now at reducing our emissions. I'm sorry that its not up to EU standards but we refuse to sacrifice our economy to make you happy. We refuse to transfer billions of dollars to other countries just because you say so.
No, lets just be honest. You posted this article because it bashed America. That is the real reason why you did it. You never even thought of China or India, or actually anyone else. You saw that it bashed American and you went with it. That is the reason, nothing more, and nothing less.
Well as long as we are pointing fingers lets make sure that we have plenty to point at. In 2018 China was up 4.7% and India by 6.3%. An according to this report, the US is only up by 2.5%. Interesting, both are well below even the 3.5% mark of the article. But yet, we leave those out and just post a US bashing article. The EU is doing good.
Well your correct about most of that, except the clean coal part. Coal will never be clean, that is why it is dying out. Give it some more time and it will be completely gone.
This is the worst pseudo-science since Trump shut down the EPA for generating most of it.
An this the exact kind of crap that you keep saying about any study that doesn't agree with your views on what should be. If a study doesn't support your ridged views on climate change is fake science or pseudo science. It has gotten so bad that you throw this label at a study, such at this one, that doesn't in any way refute man made climate change in any way.
All this study shows is that an event that happened hundreds years ago can still have an effect on the climate today. That just goes to show how complex the climate is and how much we actually don't know about it. This study in no way refutes any affect that man made effect will have on the climate.
1TB is plenty, if you don't watch more than 3 hours a day on one screen. With a family, forget it. 1 TB doesn't even begin to cover it. We use up to 3 TB a month at my place. A plan with no datacap is a must.
Fortunately, most providers have a unlimited data rate that comes at a reasonable price. Comcast is now $25, it used to be $50. Having multiple providers seems to have helped too. My apartment was just wired for AT&T, last time I was on the phone with comcast I dropped that little bit of info. Amazing how just saying those words changed the tone of the conversation.
Don't get me wrong, both AT&T are evil. I just stick with comcast because they are the devil I know.
All this will do is speed up the number of people "cutting the cord" anyway. It's the high cost that made me shoot my cable connection. I wasn't using it and why pay 80 bucks a month for something I didn't use? The only thing I was playing on it was foxnews, then I realized "I was paying $80 a month for foxnews."
Hell, get a Ruko and call it good. 4,000+ plus channel apps, granted 90% of them are garbage but there should be something on there for everyone. One day I decided to find the weirdest thing I could find on a ruko. I found it. Some guy dressed in a silver suit with a honest to god tin foil hat on. He wanted me to listen 4 hours to why his version alien built the earth for a zoo and why the government was in on it. I think I made it 15 minutes...

I thought the Chinese government was going to execute his ass.
While I agree with you on tide pods, swallow cinnamon, and other stupid self abusive shit, driving while blindfolded can get other people killed.

Bull. You saw an opportunity to bash Trump and you took it. That is all there was to that.

Have you thought it might be your personal hygiene? What kind of soap do you use?

So you keep all your media in the native format off the disk and don't re-encode it with better codecs?
Yes, yes, I'm sure this how you rationalize it. I'm happy for you if it helps you sleep at night.
