    I use Windows for tax software and on my work computer because the corporate desktop is Windows.

    My personal desktops/laptops run OS X.

    My MythTV box runs Debian Linux. My firewall runs OpenBSD.

    It's a happy state. Blizzard supports OS X very well, Thank you.

    I let my ARRL membership lapse because they wouldn't stop sending me renewal notices shortly after I renewed my membership, no matter how much I asked them to. They wouldn't at least wait until shortly before my renewal date.

    Google+ was on my phone from the factory, without my direct consent. Because it contributes to excessive battery drain while trying to sync even when data and wifi are down, and to Google's privacy invasion, I've disabled it.

    I did the same with Maps.

    It's high time for Google to respect the wishes of its phone users. When they say don't do this, don't do this.

    Perhaps, but my employer requires that the phone be locked. And my employer supplies phones. If they want me to be reachable after regular work hours, that's how it has to be.

    I just installed Slick RSS for Chrome and so far it looks pretty nice. It does not rely on any outside services to function.

    I've been considering taking a phone that does only UMTS bands I & IV (ostensibly T-Mobile, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands) to Consumer Cellular, but they won't say with certainty if any date rate faster than EDGE will work.

    Do you or anyone on the thread have experience with this combination?

    Since you have a phone that can use AT&T data (even though you don't want), switch to Consumer Cellular, which uses the AT&T network but doesn't force you into a data plan.
