I've had problems with MS' hiring tactics as well. This past November I was in the market for a full time position, and after about two weeks of searching I found a position with smaller company.
About a month later I got an email from a MS recruiter telling me to sign up for an interview with them. I politely told them I currently had a position. Two days later I get a response from the kind MS lady stating she had taken the liberty to sign me up for an interview. I replied again politely that I wasn't in the position to be interviewing with them.
At the time I thought that was that, but three days later I got another email from the recruiter stating I missed my interview, and she signed me up for another time slot.
From that point forward, I ignored all subsequent emails (about three).

PHP *DOES* have warnings and errors, they are outputted directly to your server's error log, or if you'd like them to go somewhere else (like on screen) you can specify that in your php.ini.
Virginia still can't balance its budget and is screwing over students by massive budget cuts.
Couldn't the money the commonwealth is putting into this be better put to use in the failing school systems?
I wouldn't be surprised if it were Blackboard. Back when I was a freshman at Virginia Tech one of my professors told me about the issues they were having. Apparently for half a semester you could log into anyone's account as long as you knew their PID.
I'd like for Microsoft to bring back the old intellimice. The ones with the big Back/Forward internet buttons. The reduced sized ones they are currently selling are but mere nuisances for my sausage fingers.
I think one of the reasons nothing has been done before about the RIAA's ability to walk all over people's rights is because none of the higher ups understand.
The main reason why the RIAA has so much power is because the people who pass our laws don't realize they have it. Our congressmen/senators are on average in their 50s, 60, 70s. Not to stereotype too badly, but most of the older folks in the US know the basics of email, word maybe, and quicken. The way the RIAA approached the whole file sharing fiasco is similar to if someone who doesn't know much about cars takes their car to the shop to get fixed, and on top of it the mechanic slaps on $2500 of fony repairs.
The way everything is now the RIAA will always be right, and the average person going up against them will lose. Bad situation, but that's the way it is.
I've had my powerbook since december, and am only covered by the one year warranty. I also have a powermac dual g4 which is approaching the 4 year mark, and have never had an issue with it. The reliability of my tower convinced me that the extended applecare would just be a waste for me.
Since I've had my powerbook I've had two problems. The first was the power adapter pulled away from the plug (they ruled it was abuse, but I contested that it was a design issue with the flexing of the cable, but that's another story). The second issue I had was that I reveived a defective battery. It died about a month and a half after receiveing. I took it in to the campus bookstore, they sent in into apple and I had a new battery within 24 hours.
Applecare is a good thing, but I don't think having it for longer than a year will really make a difference. Most of the warranty related issues I've had with various computers have occured before the warranty expired.
My advice is save your money, and get some insurance on that sucker! Applecare won't take care of any accidents/incidents/mishaps/stickyfingers/natural disasters.
I hear they're planning on releasing a new chip to celebrate this milestone. The chip will be based on the p4 architecture, and will be known as the p4 Type S. It will feature speed increasing kanji stickers, sporty wing, and a custom fan guaranteed to dull your hearing.
All these new features will come at a bit more of a cost but are guaranteed to increase your cpu's power by 50%.

Just my two cents.
PS I'm cheap.
DIVX?? I need my pr0n portable, and I need it now!
Fastest compiler for each platform? That's ridiculous. That'd be like ripping the innards out of a Ferrari just so a honda civic can compete with it.

My dual g4 450 that I got back in the fall of 2000 had gigabit ethernet, so I don't see why they'd remove it from the machine.
