I did include them, because if the PERSONAL transportation is truly crucial to an ability to create that income, then it's not entirely foolish. Of course if other mobility options exist (public transportation, whatever) that would negate the need for the loan, then the vehicle is still a luxury with a big fat helping of rationalization on top. Regardless, kudos to you for arranging a "loan from a friend".
What you described is a police state in miniature. That we're engaged in scaling it up now doesn't seem to be open to much debate, only how far along we are. Such a lovely time to be an American.
You know what you're describing, don't you? It's the beginning of a speciation event, one based not on physical incompatibilities but behavioral and cognitive ones. It's happened to primates before.
I'd have settled for a +1 Insightful, but my modpoints wallet is empty.
Somebody with usable mod points in this discussion should mod this smart shopper up. Data plans are an INSANE luxury unless you're able to use it to make more money than you're paying every month for it. Same reason you're an idiot if you take out a loan to buy anything personal other than a house.
This is why they make sniper rifles, high power lasers, and explosives with remote detonators. I would have added artillery and other sundry indirect-fire ordnance, but I'm not a big fan of collateral damage, meatsack or otherwise.
When even the people responsible for conceiving and popularizing its usage are saying these rulings are bullshit and being ignored, you know the people doing the ruling are completely delusional. Or evil. Or both.
I've seen both (and have copies), and I think Revelations is the better production. It may have been less fannish than Broken Allegiance; the way it's still promoted seems like they wanted to use it as a vehicle to take them places, whereas I wonder if I could even find an online copy of Broken Allegiance now. How much of a difference in budgets existed I have no idea.
What, have you never seen Star Wars Revelations? The actors in it weren't "horrific" at all, far from it, and neither was the script amateurish. And it's not a parody, which is the ONLY reason it never made it into Lucas' stupid official contest and won.
I say we preemptively nudge a few asteroids into the backside of the moon, just to be on the safe side. NASA's got Dawn out there, we could repurpose it. Vesta and Ceres would make a nice satisfying bang when they hit.
So... some powerful influential people with personal, emotional, reputational axes to grind with a clever fellow who escaped their "justice" are willing to squander an astronomic amount of money they didn't earn in order to make the clever fellow pay dearly for being more clever than them?
I knew wood/bamboo frames technically exist but... not in my economic universe. The link to Renovo now sits in my monstrous wishlist folder, though, so if I ever win a lottery then my universe might expand to envelop wooden bikes.
Except most of the "wire" in screening isn't actually wire anymore, it's stranded synthetics with a vinyl coating.

I wish I had mod points handy right now. +1 Insightful

Better tardy to the party than huddled at home with a bag of Cheetos.

Is she the illegitimate love child of Karl Malden? That's the most distracting schnozz I've seen on a woman in a while.
Oh, wait... he's very much alive and fuming about this bullshit.

Dyslexic much? :-)
As long as they're not loony that might be okay.
So then Wikipedia really isn't run by impartial androids? Damn!
... clever fellow who escaped their control....
There, fixed that for myself....

Yep, that's new!
So then... "canned air" and a toothbrush saved the ISS from an energy crunch and rolling blackouts?
I *always* have extra toothbrushes for brushing non-toothy things.

The splinters from those suckers are a bitch!
So when can I buy a "wooden" bike frame? Extra bonus points if it can be composted (along with me) when it gets totaled by a hit-n-run driver.
Any relation to account 527904? Hope not. That one's a tool.
