    The problem is, often Republicans match their own stereotype as well. "Oh look, they actually are defending tax cuts for the wealthy and for bankers." They don't actually hate women.......then some Republican gets on the radio saying that you can't get pregnant in a 'legitimate rape.'

    It's depressing how often politicians actually live up to the cartoonish, negative stereotypes others make of them.

    I agree with your points and assessments, but I don't think superdelegates are the way to solve the problem. People who get their preferred candidate 'stolen' by superdelegates will always feel cheated by a process that is undemocratic.

    Yes, that would have been better. This list is pretty good. If she'd done almost any one of them differently, it could have won for her. Her choice of VP was especially bad, I don't think it won a single vote for her.

  7. I don't know about most locales, but here in San Francisco the locals will largely be glad you are gone. I'm not sure your threat seems very bad to many people.

    Looks like they hired a neutral third-party to investigate. They presented some of the evidence:

    The investigator had access to Tesla’s compensation data and found that Vandermeyden’s salary was in the middle of the range and while some new hires were indeed paid more than her as her lawsuit claims, the highest paid new hire was a woman and several men were paid less than her. Therefore, Hilbert determined that gender discrimination had nothing to do with her compensation.

    It doesn't say why she was fired, but most companies won't say that.

    Possible "blame the data scientists" is a convenient scapegoat for both parties, and not the real reason for losing either time.

    The ones I'm looking at are Elizabeth Warren, Al Franken, Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris. There's a heavy contingent of competent women in congress right now.

    As an outsider, Oprah has a decent chance if she chooses to.

    I was wondering why I saw so few Hillary bumper stickers in the last year or two. I saw more Obama stickers.

    H would probably have to lie to compete.

    To be fair, she did compete, and almost one. Just a few small changes, and she would have been president.

    Hillary has charisma, or at least did at one time. Here's an example of an early speech. If she had been able to keep that energy or even optimism, she would be president right now.

    That's a really dumb comment, go take a few breaths of pure water and see whether you consider it a pollutant.

    At the concentrations of CO2 we're seeing or even potentially seeing the atmosphere in the worst scenarios, the worrying thing is AGW. Human suffocation isn't a worry.

    That the person is otherwise a scoundrel is irrelevant.

    Whether or not a person is a scoundrel, along with chances for recidivism, are definitely relevant to sentencing.

    With the advance in moore's law, the latest gen of small form-factor hardware might be able to run locally some significant deep neural-nets.

    Especially if it's just running them, and the training happens elsewhere.

  24. I imagine Levandowski will be richly paid at some point for keeping his mouth shut and for reducing the amount of liability Uber has in this matter of controversy.

    If Levandowski gets away from this with any money at all left in the bank, he's gotten lucky. There's no need to pay him extra to keep his mouth shut.
