    It was done by an insane person, neither party has a monopoly on insanity (if you doubt it, look at the leading candidate of each party).

    It's been reported in multiple sources, so if you use Google you can find plenty of other sources. If you want to look at the WSJ link, you can click here, and WSJ lets you through the paywall with a Google referral.

    Crazy. I didn't believe it at first, but here's the story, from Orange County, North Carolina. It was a Molotov Cocktail, accompanied by graffiti that says, “Nazi Republicans leave town or else.” Real gents, these people.

    Click on the first link, it's the actual report from SecureWorks
    Their evidence is that Russian hackers have, in the past, built Gmail spoofing pages to spearphish people in Ukraine/etc. Because Russians have done a similar campaign before, they assume this is Russians again. They are moderately confident that it is Russian agents. (They leave it ambiguous whether it is state-sponsored or not).

    btw, you can use cygwin's package manager which has taken care of all that for a long time.

    The election season has probably helped clear your mind. I've noticed that many people have been speaking very rationally in the news lately.

    The advantage of this new thing is that it runs Linux binaries directly. If you need to do that, and can't get the source for some reason, then it's great.

    It's also great for programs that have trouble compiling under Cygwin, like dpkg. Other than that, better you use Cygwin. Or better yet, burn Windows and use Linux directly.

    I've always wondered where Dark Avenger is today. He was a legendary Bulgarian virus writer in the early 1990s and he was never caught. One rumour is that he's working at some motherboard vendor nowadays, writing BIOS code.

  19. If there's one thing that I have learned over my 25-year career in computer security, it is that people never learn. They just won't. They will always follow every link, they will always double-click on every attachment, they will always type their password on every phishing site. Quite often, education just seems like a waste of time.

    Maybe he's just a bad teacher. I know plenty of people who have learned this.

    There's also a theory that increased soy products have aided in increased breast sizes, early puberty, and low sperm counts... though it's far from proven.

    If that were true, wouldn't regions that eat a lot of tofu have women with generally larger breasts?
