    As a grandparent, I'll second that. I don't like the idea of kids watching movies for hours at a time, but try to keep a 4 yr old entertained for a while and you'll love those Disney movies.

    "Watch this movie, sweetie, Grandpaw's gotta rest for a bit."

    Damn this getting old stuff!

    7.2 megabytes/picture is not really that bad, especially for professional photographers. The Kodak DCS-14n camera is a 13.7 megapixel (recorded) camera with a resolution of 4536 x 3024. The prefered shooting mode, RAW, at 12 bits per pixel yields a file size of approx. 15 megabytes.

    13.5 MP - 4500 x 3000
    6.0 MP - 3000 x 2000
    3.4 MP - 2250 x 1500

    Not exactly a point and shoot, huh?

    In the U.S. it is stated that we are born with these rights and that they come from God. The government was created to PROTECT our rights. Any government that claims that your rights come from government is a dangerous government (read the U.N. declaration of human rights to see a really bad example).

    This is totally off topic, but look at the report at CAFR.

    In short it says: "The State of California at the State-level has approximately $63.39 billion of the taxpayer's money it is not using, i. e. surpluses equal to $1,790 for every man, woman and child in California or $7,158 for a family of 4. This does not include all the additional surpluses that exist in the school districts, cities, or counties in California."

    This is not made up - the information comes from the California State Controller's Office. Read the report and then get mad as Hell. They are struggling alright; struggling to get more of your money! Bunch of damned crooks - Democrats and Republicans alike.

    It happened like that here in Alabama. Before I could get either DSL or cable, I told them whoever was first would get my business. Cable beat DSL by 2 1/2 years. Now BellSouth is calling begging for me to change over. One woman said that my cable would slow down the more of my neighbors got on it. I said, good, sell them DSL , but leave me the hell alone.

    Where were you when I wanted you. Where were you when I needed you...

    What I heard was that they pretty much had to move because of high levels of radiation and toxic waste at Area 51. I can't remember where it was speculated that they moved, but if they really want to never be seen, they could get their programs on WB or CBS.

    That's like saying "hey, I bought the VHS version of a movie, so I'm entitled to the DVD version now!"

    Nobody is really saying that. I'd be more than happy to be able to take my old LPs down to the store and trade them in for new media and pay ONLY for the new media, not re-pay for the content. What's the real cost of manufacturing a cd or dvd?

    Well, now it is because the vinyl is old and worn out!

    There's no way an mp3 at a bit-rate of 128 is better than the original vinyl LP, but, what did we expect from the RIAA, the truth?

    I never said that taxes were not legitimate. I said that using taxpayers' money to give to deadbeats like you was not legitimate, asshole. I'm all in favor of taxes to pay for the functions of the U.S. government. I'm just against the redistribution of income. That's not the way our country is supposed to work. Only a damned socialist would be in favor of redistibution of income. Remember Marx saying "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need"?

    Spending on the military is a legitimate thing for the Federal government to do under our Constitution. Taking my money at the point of a gun to give to assholes who won't better themselves is not.

    One of our biggest problems in this country is that we have too many people who believe that the sun can't come up tomorrow without the help of the government.

    While I disagree with your opinion of Reagan, I do like the way the British name their ships. Most of my fellow Americans forget that the British navy was the best in the world a long time before the U.S. even existed.

    One of these days I'd like to visit your country and tour the HMS Victory. It would be an honor to walk the deck where Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson walked.

    Income to the Federal government actually INCREASED during Reagan's administration. The large debt was caused by the social-democrats in Congress spending more than came in. As usual.

    Most of you aren't old enough to remember what it was like working and trying to raise a family during the Carter administration. Double-digit inflation and interest rates, and single-digit raises (I worked for a Democrat). If Carter had been re-elected, I would have been right on the brink of backruptcy. I bought a house in 1979 with an 11 3/4% interest rate!

    Yes, thank God Reagan was elected. The economy turned around and the USSR was defeated. What more do you want?

    I heard on The Screensavers last night that she said that she didn't know what spam was. That didn't surprise me; I'd be surprised to find out she could read. My bet is that she has no idea about how to use a computer or send email.

    If this is typical of CongressVermin, I'd rather they not make an anti-spam law.

    Though it would be nice to send some of the spammers down to Guantanamo for a while...

    Down here in good old redneck Alabama, when my doctor decided I needed an MRI on my hip, I got it the very next day. If I were Canadian, I'd still be waiting (read: suffering). If you love your healthcare system, by all means stay there with it.
