Apple responded by threatening legal action against the company.
How is a wax figure, soon to be pawed over and posed with by thousands of tourists, some of whom will no doubt sneak the "I'm giving this wax figure a blowjob" pose for their iphone-wielding friend, any better than that? Why isn't Apple all over this?
given enough time, monkeys DID write Shakespeare's works - they just had to evolve to the point that one of them, named William Shakespeare, decided that writing plays was a good thing for him to do and so he did and here we are.
If the Philips Coffee Machine was indeed in the Evoluon from 1966 to 1989, then that copy of the machine can't be the same one that was installed in the OSC during the 1970's-1980's. My brother and I have very clear memories of the machine at the OSC during the 1970's. We also know from the OSC themselves that they didn't throw it away, it's in storage and needs parts.
maybe the bank's foreclosing and listing the property preemptively. Did anyone check to see if the Obamas were in default?
Just another black family getting tossed out by heartless corporate fatcats, nothing to see here.
the serial # won't match the one on the receipt, will it? this sort of shenanigans might be why serial #s are always recorded on receipts (at least up in Canada they are...)
NASA posts all astronaut photography on its website in a variety of resolutions, including the original full-size file. Usually within a day or so of the images being taken and transmitted back to earth.
the larger the image size the easier it is to print postcards of it or manipulate it for profit.
and in terms of bandwidth, a few hundred K might not seem like a lot but when you have hundreds of thousands of visitors each day, it makes a difference - especially considering the website in question, boston.com, is a newspaper's website - and we all know how well newspapers are doing these days.
these pics look much bigger nicer over at boston.com's The Big Picture, where they were posted yesterday and no doubt scooped and scaled for your link.
someone tells me the new version is significantly faster than the previous one, that's my main complaint, sure I'll switch. And yes, it's faster than Firefox on the Mac side so it was a no-brainer.... at least until a faster version of Firefox comes along.
I think it was good of Apple to let people know this is coming. Firstly it protects their customers from losing functionality and secondly it lets the hackers know the update is coming so they can take account of it and design a workaround asap so people with unlocked phones can do the firmware update safely. It's not as if people are being forced to do the update NOW NOW NOW... they can simply wait a bit (like a week tops) for the hack to be updated.
Honestly. Does anyone really believe the Cisco lawsuit announcement isn't just designed media theatre to ensure that the words "Apple" and "iPhone" stay on the front page of the business section (where Crackberry users will see them) for the entire length of the CES, overshadowing Microsoft's limping attempts to publicize Vista?
Even if Cisco is doing this on their own without Apple asking them to do it as part of the iPhone's debut strategy, they are doing it because Apple knows they will do it. Wants them to do it. The money Apple stands to make from the iPhone far outweighs any legal costs associated with buying the name, under suit or otherwise, from Cisco/Linksys.
a while back after Steve Jobs died a company called inIcons tried to market a (also remarkably lifelike) action figure based on Steve Jobs.

"probably turn Blomkvist into some kind of James Bond figure" ...no kidding! Daniel Craig's been slated to play him in the movie!

http://www.facebook.com/sciencecentrememories?ref=ts The Ontario Science Centre Memory Bank is a Facebook group for sharing pics and notes about favorite displays and experiences at the OSC... They include a pic and some notes about the Philips Coffee Machine and it's current whereabouts... At last word it was held in a warehouse, needing spare parts. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3172797&id=64649215395

Here's a page with photos of the eclipse from March 26, 2009: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/multimedia/ISS_eclipse_03292006.html

I think bandwidth and copyright concerns have more to do with it than the size of people's monitors.
The nicest picture of the eclipse was posted here, though:

I believe the correct phrasing should be, "When Servers Asplode."
I hope this doesn't set off a lulcomets meme or somethin'

LaCie's had 2TB models out for a while now. Why is 1.5TB important? http://www.lacie.com/ca/products/product.htm?pid=11111
Your life is not limited to FB. If you want to tell a friend about bugmenot.com then send them a proper email, not a social marketing tool.
Giganews FTW - how long will they hold out against regulators, I wonder.
so the space race really IS a pissing contest!
there's no way in hell this would ever get funding. whalecow-tipping would be almost impossible.

- Apple has the iPod. - Google has YouTube. - the possibilities are lucrative.
