What I think we're missing is the principle behind it all. This guy had a need and instead of just running out and buying an air conditioner, he designs and builds something that meets his needs (cooling off the room before bed). It's not perfect but he used his ingenuity to build a cheap air conditioner rather than just throwing a fistful of dollars at the problem. I wonder what this world would be like if we took the initiative to do things like this more often?
I think we should take our cues from the Futurama "Big Piece of Garbage" episode.
Leela: Should we really be celebrating? I mean, what if the second ball of garbage returns to Earth like the first one did?
Fry: Who cares? That won't be for hundreds of years
Professor Farnsworth: Exactly. It's none of our concern.
Fry: That's the 20th century spirit!
I started blogging to keep in touch with friends I made in college, it's easier than email, at least for me (you don't have to respond if you don't want to, I don't clog the inboxes of others, ect...)
I have about 30 or so blogs in my rss reader most of them are people I know.
It should be added that most physicists disagree with Deutsch's conclusion that what is detected in this experiment is another universe. For brevity's sake, the argument against can be summarized as, there is something interfering with the light in this experiment, why does it have to be a parallel universe? Why can't it be just be left to something that we don't yet understand?

When I was in college in Missouri my wallet was stolen (thankfully being in college I had no money) but I did have to get a replacement drivers license and credit cards - Vermont (my home state) just sent me a piece of paper saying "Brandon is allowed to drive" needless to say - no picture. About half the time I used my credit card I was asked for a photo ID (store policy) and my response was "I don't have one" - they always accepted my story and never gave me any problems.
This can't be a good move for Apple - say for example I buy $10.00 worth of music a week at.99 I'm buying 10 songs and Apple makes a $1.00. Now at the new price of $1.25 I'm only getting 8 songs for that $10.00 which means that Apple now makes 0.80 on the same $ amount spent - people spend the same dollar amount and you make less money - that can't be good.
From what I've heard Apple isn't making much on the Itunes music store (all about selling ipods) this can't be a good thing for them.

It was during his time down in New Mexico that Gates was stopped for a traffic infraction. Unfortunately, the complete details of his arrest and mugshot have been lost to time, either intentionally (if you're a conspirator) or simply because who would have thought anyone would give a shit about some geek getting pulled over 20 years ago. Either way, all we have to go by is this snapshot of Gates being hauled in front of the camera, grinning his ass off, perhaps thinking himself above it all or incredulous that things had gotten that far. Gates has changed his story several times on what happened that night, but the most plausible is that he ran a stop light and wasn't carrying his license with him when he was pulled over, requiring a visit down to the station.

You can also check the EFF subpoena datatbase, for existing subpoenas, it's not updated with the new IP's yet but I'd imagine that'll happen pretty soon.
I just purchased a Shuttle SK41G and I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of noise. A very quiet whirr of the fan and that's it, very unlike the 747 takeoff noise that my previous computer generated. At the office I keep some music on quietly and I can't hear the fan. The grinding of the hard drive is actually more noticeable. Before this case I didn't even know my hard drive made noise:)
Anyway I'm pretty happy with it, but that's only one opinion.
To cool the cpu it uses a "heatpipe" system.
Here's some pictures of the case and the internals.
One of the guys I know buys some cheap filter paper at walmart (in the section where all the furnace and ac filters are) and just cuts it to size and attaches it to the grill on the power supply. His systems are almost 100% dust free.
I recently subscribed to AOHell - 45 free days, I'm a poor college student with no broadband unless I cough up a 100 bucks a month - anyway in the first 12 hours with aol I recieve 20 messages all from "customer service" telling me how to better use my account...

We're whalers on the moon,
We carry a harpoon,
For they ain't no whales
So we tell tall tales
And sing our whaling tune.

"shut down" meaning no longer available for download, not that the program no longer works.

You can check that here
The day before the interview for my current job, I was called and told to bring a cigarette and a blindfold to the interview.

Although MandrakeMove uses the CD-ROM drive, you can eject the CD to read multimedia contents from another disc!
It's all right here
