Yes. These stats are useless. GM spun off the financing. They are profitable now, although like many manufacturers they probably aren't making money on every model line currently-- usually the ones that have been updated within the last model year or two.
Isn't that kind of like complaining that your softball or flag football league isn't allowed to play at Citizen's Bank Park or Lincoln Financial Field?
I would expect that 50 years of one-party rule would show progress. No, clearly it is getting worse every day. So how many decades before you think it will get better? Maybe another 50 will do it? If what we're doing isn't working, just try more of it?
Slashdot, why is this modded insightful? Really-- why? HOUSTON is notable for having no zoning laws. Apparently, the town of West doesn't either, because it appears to be the town with the exploding fertilizer plant that alen is referring to. Zoning is not generally the duty of the state, but of the local governments. Do you really want the state telling you how your town must be laid out? Why do you, as a citizen, want some bureaucrats far away making blind decisions instead of being able to go to a town meeting and actually influence the decisions?
LJIIs probably smell like that because their corona wires are quite exposed to dust. Have to love being able to open the unit like a clamshell and see most of the guts right there.
My Realistic (Radio Shack) clock radio, with battery backup, vinyl "wood" and aluminum trim, has been working for 30 years. I carried it with me back and forth to college and through multiple moves. It works perfectly and only has a small crack on the plastic covering the radio dial to show for it.
Maybe this is why the hypocrite Democrats aren't legalizing cannabis-- they're hoping the illegal growers will drive adoption of green energy to hide their energy usage.

Well, then it's about time the UK starts allowing their citizens to arm themselves, stop being monitored in public, and paying for stupid TV licenses. While we're at it, the French need to work longer hours and wear deodorant, and the Germans need to have the sticks up their asses surgically removed.
Appeal to popularity, right?
I'm pretty sure the USA is quite leftist compared to the entire Middle East and much of Africa, regardless. So by "The Rest of the World", what an elitist like you means is, "Western Europe".
Not only is the smell of cat pee the least of my concerns, but if some guy was burning trash and stinking up the neighborhood, I'd have reason to complain. Likewise, if his cannabis smoke is wafting around my house. I guess he'll have to run the A/C while he's tokin'.
RAID 10 and RAID 0+1 shouldn't be used interchangeably. RAID 10 is striped mirrors, and 0+1 is mirrored stripes. Both fail if all copies of mirrored data are lost, but with RAID 10 that's only 1 disk to worry about after the first failure while with RAID 0+1 it could be any of the disks in the remaining stripe set, which is at least 2.
The national average for gasoline was over $3/gallon for 10 months under Bush.
The national average for gasoline has been over $3/gallon for 3.5 years under Obama.
The dive well below $2 in 2008 was anomalous due to the shrinking economy. Likewise, however, was the anomalous rise over $4 for three months before that crash. The recovery point around $2.61, before the Democrats' crony-enriching "stimulus", was more reflective of the real value. Today's is partially a reflection of Obama's misguided economic policies.
Um, we also have regulations on efficiency here. Not everyone is going to go so far as to sacrifice quality of life and freedom just to make the greens happy. The USA falls somewhere between you and France, which indeed has wasteful homes.
Seriously. I didn't like LEGO much as a kit, but I had a Robotix kit, and once I'd built some of the models I started modifying them as I liked. Once I was bored with that I just started designing my own robots. That's the way it works.
At the time, there were limited means of communication (you took days to distribute a pamphlet) vs. being able to post on your blog within minutes or call into a radio or TV show.
Further, newspaper, book, and word of mouth were about all there were. The most literal interpretation of that 1st amendment means I could possess radio stations, TV stations, web sites, and if I were wealthy enough, my own cable network. In short, the 1st amendment favors the rich because they can speak as freely as they want. Not very equal, is it?
That's a large number of people willing to die to protect the rights of the rich to own another human being.
You don't know much about the civil war. Most fought because they didn't like their state being bullied around by other states, even if their state was in the wrong.

You've basically just made a "my dad can beat up your dad" argument. I'm leaving this dick-waving discussion.

Maybe you should stop expecting people to congratulate you for being gay.

Nice straw man.
-Defusing bad moderation since 1999.

Comfy?

^ This.
Citation needed... for the 100%+ profit claim. Not my mental sanity, which is probably subjective.

Keep attacking that straw man so you don't ever have to challenge your own opinions.

Then stop using "Pro Choice" when the only choice you're concerned about is killing a fetus.
