  1. Features included in UNIX not in Linux? How about? on What High End Unix Features are Missing from Linux? · · Score: 1

I understand that even though Linux supports SMP a comparative system clustered and "noded" under unix for high-end cluster builds is cheaper or the same price. Shoot I even read that article on /. or one of these OSDN sites... Don't flame but I am bending the software versus hardware layers here but then again you have to consider we are now building mainframe comparative systems from personnel computer technology... Most UNIX coding from properitary shop/companies had their focus on running and building around the hardware architecture versus building Linux software that would run on a 386 and AMD Thunderbird alike... (Sure you can recompile your OS code to your hearts content but unless you know, understand and design the code core/system calls of your kernel with all the foibles that the CPU doctorate designer thought up his CPU, your code will be highly compatible and tuned BUT not optimized.[Ginsu versus Ceramic Knifes]) Some UNIX'es just scale better then Linux.

  2. Just bathe in a rock pool after a major surgery... on Antibiotic Resistant Staph Antibiotic Discovered · · Score: 2, Insightful

The question is what kind of rock pool... People have been bathing in heated spring water pools for thousands of years with our race to become technologically superiors we have forgotten our past. Now if we can change the way that we use H/A/V/C in our work places maybe we can prevent offices & cube spaces from becoming flu factories... Why they don't install basic UV lamps inside of air ducts is beyond me, same goes for commuter and cargo transports airplanes...
