Personally, I'd prefer to have my own guns to allow me to protect myself from possible criminal attack. The police are NOT there to stop or prevent crime, it is up to me to defend myself in my home. Being that 911 emergency calls in the New Orleans area can take up to and over an hour in some parts....doesn't give me any warm fuzzy feelings about not needing something to potentially defend myself.
People have a right to not get stabbed, or beaten over the head too...want to restrict access to knives, and baseball bats too?
Actually, if you read the constitution, you find that pretty much EVERYTHING is a God given right, until it is outlawed or regulated.
Most of this regulation, etc..is to be done on the state or more local basis.
The Bill of Rights, was a bit of a compromise, in that the founders didn't want it to seem that the Constitution gave rights, which it is not designed to do..it is there to enumerate the LIMITED rights, power and responsibility of the Federal Govt. But they did find they wanted to emphasize and enumerate some very special rights to make sure they didn't get tossed out easily (and good thing too)...so the Bill of rights spells out ones the founders thought to be very special.
Guns aren't just for hunting or self protection, the founders also wanted the people to be able to be armed in case this govt. overstepped its reach and they could fight back. That is part of it....
That all being said, I don't see where this drone registration is all that helpful myself. Seems to me more like security theater than anything else. And I don't like the govt having things of mine registered, that is the first step in case they ever DO want to take that something away some day...

If you are posting that you are doing illegal activities then chances are the officials will be finding that. It might be 3 or 4 generations away from you, but what happens if a bad actor is linked to YOU for what they say, post or do.
If you need any kind of security clearance, this can raise flags on your application.
It isn't always what you do, but what someone else linked to you (that you might not even really know) that can potentially be linked to you.
I mean, there might be someone that is 4-5 levels of friends away from someone that was friends with the CA terrorists, and you can bet your sweet ass that they and likely several levels even further away are now on some kind of watch list for extra scrutiny.

That being said....the outcome, has turned out pretty well. Do you think the US and the modern world would be nearly the same if this hadn't happened? Ok, maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened, because no terrorist would be interested in ramming an airliner into the World Trade Teepee centers, but still.....I think we're much better off today with the US as it is, and all the inventions and innovation we had over the years.

I love collecting them. I like to shoot them out at the range, or when we're out on someone's land where it is safe to knock off a few hundred rounds on an afternoon. If you like hunting, they are nice for that.
I've done reloading of my own casings with friends and hope to get into that soon.

You do realise that this sort of law making is typically done by congress. Sure he could use presidential powers, but that is a tool that is meant to be used only in extreme situations and with care.
