Absolutely one of the dumbest lawsuits I have ever seen. As soon as Intertrust can prove that Microsoft's DRM support has somehow cost InterTrust any money then hell can freeze over.
If anyone actually USED digital rights management maybe InterTrust would have grounds for a lawsuit. But nobody does.
An appeals court in the Netherlands, meanwhile, ruled that local distributors of the software shouldn't be responsible for piracy by its users.
My personal feelings: Damn right.
Me as the Devil's Advocate: Unfortunately if you rule that the company isn't responsible and the users are then it basically tells the labels/software companies/etc that they can't do anything about it. They can't ask the file-sharing program's owner for user information because of the wonderful world of privacy. Lovely!
They should get it whether anyone likes it or not. They did just come up with the idea and it appears that even if others have been using it before then they didn't seek a patent.
It isn't just "bloggers" - it's more like "people who don't know anything better to do with the internet"
If you play RoTT in these last days up to Christmas the laoding screens show your character in a Santa hat and it plays Xmas jingles. Just a fun fact.

we extended the death penalty to people who solicit this crap - telemarketers, spammers, infomercial actors... you get the picture.
The Spam filters still don't work for crap when it comes to real spam.

Is "Because Windows is the Standard" an acceptable answer?
