After being checked, the bulb was found to be broken. There's also a note saying that they hope to check the top of the post soon.
"The wharf lamp bulb was yesterday found to be blown but the top of the post will not be checked for damage until today."
You mean like the Gates Foundation (http://www.gatesfoundation.org/default.htm) wher e he basically gave away almost 1.2 billion last year? Is half a billion for education plus half a billion for world health enough?
Windows or nothing else? You must new to computers. Choices like CP/M, linux, unix, OS2, and DOS flow easily from the top of my head. And why limit your choices to x86 hardware? How about Macs, BeOS, Atari and Amiga.
Questionable tactics alone do not create a winning product. Stop whining, help Linux compete on it's own merits.
The only reason the article was posted was to make Linux feel better that they're competing against a monopoly. So what? Who the hell cares if MS is a monopoly. Taking them to court is for crybabies. Rather, try: How did MS get to this point and why the hell is a free product having trouble competing with such an "expensive" one.
It's features. Microsoft gives people what they want and linux gives em CLIs. Gandma and Grandpa don't want to know how to set up perl. Joe Business User doesn't want to have to look under the hood. Linux will NEVER become the dominant OS until it's as easy as XP (or whatever MSs latest OS is). Stop the whining and get back to work.
$40 in the 80's would be about $160 in today's dollars.
