The big problem with any type of flight is weight. For airlines every item they carry is weighed and not just for weight/Bal. Say you have a new type of whatever and you want it on every flight your airline flys. Even if the whatever cost you nothing you still pay for the fuel used to tote the whatever on every flight. Next time you fly check out the pillows/blankets and even the serving carts. All of them are very low weight. So just find out how much "The Chute" installed and ready weighs in at. Then do the math

$1000.00 for cables? for audio? Let me guess they have gold plated ends right? And of course some very tech sounding stuff for the conductors hmm?? Have you ever put these "great" cables on a scope? You do have a scope don't you?. Now we know who buys all those gold plated "f" connectors at radio shack........

  8. Naw it's more like a go fast switch on Intel's Anti-Overclocking Technology Simplified · · Score: 1, Funny

I think the Lear 20 series to be more on target than the 767. A few folks modded LearJets to exceed .82mach without getting a mach overspeed alarm going off. They just added a switch to disable mach overspeed. So if one wanted to kick a lear to .83 just hit the switch and kick in some power. The only problem was a some point over .82 you would start to loose laminar flow over the wing due to some supersonic flow. Needless to say Lear did not approve of this mod and they lost a few Lears over this. However the older Lears are still awesome in flight performance without the stupid "go fast switch".

  12. But for HDTV input??? on Making the HDTV Vision Quest? · · Score: 0

As far as input goes I have tried the "pizza dishes" and just find both (dishnetwork/directtv) to be lacking. There is a very good reason cable company headends spend the big bucks for the big dishes. The small dishes just can't compare in this area. I would most highly recomend a 10 foot dish hooked to a "4dtv" receiver with the HDTV "sidecar". That and nice low temp LNBs plus some belden RG-6 and you should have a awesome setup. You might wish to add a MPEG-2 box for some grins and giggles.... Works great for me but I don't give a Sh** about the neighbors or how odd the backyard looks ( I got 2 of em) Good Luck
