"most drivers can steer the car with one hand."

Have you seen drivers talking on their cell phones. They can't steer with one hand. Have you ever seen them try to park, its even worse.
I live in New Jersey and the law for banning hand held cell phone use while driving is flawed. You can only be pulled over for it if you are causing another offence like no turn signal or speeding. Then and only then can you get a ticket for it. In my opinion that needs to be changed for it to truely work.

You don't need the entire social secutity number, only the first 6 digits. I know many people who have the first 6 digits the same. This happens of you are born in the same area/hospital. It is not uncommon for many children in the same school system around the same age to have the first 6 digits matching. I have seen it with my own eyes.

I agree. I understand that many feel that this war should not happen, but it has begun and there are so many husbands, brothers, wives, daughters etc. fighting for our country and our continued freedom. Living in America we are given the right to choose and I would not want that any other way. Protesting is a choice, but realize people are giving their lives to protect you so please don't protest them. We are lucky to be so free so I am choosing now, as I always have, to support our armed forces because I want to see my friends and family come home exactly as they left... alive.

I once had an old IBM Thinkpad for work. I was on top of the scaffolding doing a testing procedure on one of the tanks(about 20 feet or so up). Well, I stepped back and there was a dip in the metal scaffolding and I lost my balance and my laptop went over the railing and crashed on the floor. The the battery and everything from under the keyboard flew out when it hit the floor. I was like oops, tured around and went down and put it back together. Amazingly it still worked so I went on with my testing. When I was issued my new laptop they made me promice not to climb anymore scaffolding with it.

I don't have to imagine waking up under snow in my dorm room. With my bed under my window(only place to put it in the room) which is currently broken and doesn't close all the way, I have woken up under snow a couple of times. And the worst part is it doesn't melt because the heat is always broken. Not my idea of a good nights sleep. I just hope I don't wake up one morning and find my poor fish in a block of ice.

I am taking swing, salsa and ballroom dancing classes right now and being a single girl in these classes it is fun to spend the night dancing in a guys arms. I mean, I go to a tech school where the guys don't have much cordination, but the dancing gives us something to talk about other than our classes and it really is a good time. A lot of girls look for a guy that can dance. Hey, I already got a date for dinner and dancing from one of the guys and I can't wait.

First, for those who actualy like veggie burgers, they actually taste good (and the texture is fine too). Why add this flavoring to change the taste of the vegetbles in the burger? I can see this helping in other aspects, like stated in artical and by others, in the medical feild.

Second, there is also nothing wrong with tofu if prepared properly. I have gotten some of my meat eater friends to like the stuff preparing in one of my favorite ways. If you haven't tried it then I would suggest finding a vegetarian resturant near where you live and try what they have, you may be surprised.

I am a vegetarian because I don't like the taste of meat, haven't since I was a child. (try saying "I don't like that kielbasa mommy, can I have some more broccoli" to a primarily German family who would rather have meat on the table than vegetables(and tofu).

You don't need some added flavoring to make foods taste better. If you cook foods properly and add seasonings and spices all foods can taste great. Well, almost, don't try the chocolate tofu cheesecake, the nastiest thing I have ever tasted in my entire life.

What do you mean "If you aren't testing your hypothesis with real experiments, you're not doing science!"? Theoretical physicists are discussing things, making new ideas that other physicists are able to experiment with.

I have an engineering degree and I am currently working on Physics degrees and when asked what I am, I say I am a scientist not an engineer becuase I feel that there is more that I can do in science than engineering(even though I know that this means I won't make a lot of money but that is not important to me at all).

A part of doing science is thinking and coming up with new ideas. Conjecture is just a huge part of it. Science is deffinatly not a subset of engineering. It takes someone with a different mind to be a scientist and I don't think that people who don't understand this should knock it. And I am not just saying this to you because I say it to my family as well, they are all engineers and hate the fact that I am doing physics.
So right now I am working on my own ideas(only through conjecture, not expermenting yet) as I am studying to finish my degrees, do you think that I am not doing science because I think I am.

Although they don't requie students to have the computers and they "give" them out, don't you think that most, if not all students have them? If you think about it, when a school gives out the computers all of the computers have the required software needed for the classes and they are all the same. I do not feel that this is a gimmick for all of the schools that have this program. Maybe for some it is, but I really do not believe it is for my school. I find it very useful that I don't have to worry about having the programs needed for projects because I know that they are already on my laptop and if not then I can find it on the network or the computer center will install them for me. Just my .02, whatever.

We have a simialr program where I attend school and I find that it is extermly useful. When starting I did not have to worry about my old desktop having everything that I needed on it for all of my classes. Every entering student(resident or comuter) is given(term used loosely) compaq laptops with a three year basic warranty and the option to purchace additional coverage. Luckily, transfering in, I should be out in three years so I don't need to worry about that last year like most do. All of the software needed is provided by the school which is great. When you graduate the laptop is yours and I know a few people that are going to throw their in the river after graduation cause theirs are old and not so good. There is a rule though, that if you decide to leave the school before you graduate you have to give back the computer or buy it out for the current value. If you give it back you still have to pay for the cost of referbishment so they can just go out and give it to someone else which is kinda sucky. Over all this is a good thing and more schools should start thinking about doing this. I love that I can bring my laptop to class and do my work right there and not have to wait till I get back to my room to do it. Comes in handy when I have lots of code to write and not enough time to finish it and go to class - I can do both at once.
