it isn't instantly recognizable as a Mac, then what's the point?
IMO, Apple's currently line of machines are designed to look as inconspicuous as possible, of course you need the environment to suit them:p
It's only because they are made by Apple that we immediately recognise them. The designs are nothing special, a rehash of minimalist design that has been around for years, but only just applied to computers.
I can't remember where I read it, but the explanation I got was that 12 parsecs was how far a freighter moving at some standard speed along a path had moved in the time that who ever is doing the run travels from the freighterâ"or distance equivalent toâ"to Kessel and back to the freighter...
then again, whats a space opera without a few inconsistencies...
I got bored af the novels before I got to the Solo Chronicles...they were good fun...but I out grew them
as far as I've experimented...iTunes VBR doesn't properly do VBR, the bitrate value that you set in the options sets the maximum|averageâ"not sure which to be exactâ"bit rate that the VBR track uses. If you change the bitrate value, the size and average bitrate of the mp3 increases.
IIRC I haven't encoded an mp3 using iTunes for...months now...
I think the "Time-Warner" portion of AOL is the section that is most interested in this...
The Warner music group is definitely one of the big five...they have a portion of the pie available via the iTunes music service...now...no matter how fast Apple gain market share...Apple will not have any where near the market share that the big five want (to peddle their music to)...but with the Windows version of iTunes...the consumer world is theirs again...Apple will get a cut...the big five have a far larger market and every oneâ"with the possible exception of Microsoftâ"is happy...
heya Gropo's Dad...
have you figured the mail problem yet? I can see all the options necessary to change my outgoing and incoming mail servers...there doesn't seem to be any thing preventing me from changing them to my hearts content...
I have had experience with ISPs that prevent me from sending mail through them if I am not currently connected through them...though reading previous posts it seems that you--or your son--would have already considered that...

I'm falling in love with the cube all over again.
That is absolutely gorgeous.
Old x86 boxes become servers, old Macs become works of art.
God forbid that people use the most appropriate tools for the job.
some even cried at the news
*sheds a tear for times past
Shouldn't that be "It's also about 10 times as many stars as grains of sand on all the Earth's beaches and deserts."
*stops bouncing about the streets and making weird hand movements
hrmmm

and younger /.ers that just got home from a warehouse are rubbing themselves against the carpet and wondering why everything is so bright
damn...if only I could mod today...
Am I the only one that thinks that strongbad is stupid overall...there are so many other sources of humor out there, some actually humorous...
*extended sigh*
