Not that I think buying music through the iTMS is the way to go, but when you go to the movies you're still going to pay the $10 wether the movie had a budget of $5K or $50M. For the guy to make a comment like that only goes to show how greedy these guys are. They're the problem with music.

Watch out for Chapter 12 in The Definitive Guide to Plone. I guess things have changed a bit with the current release of plone and as a consequence the example is broken. Luckily you can find a copy on the author's site: http://plone-book.agmweb.ca
I only mention it, as this is the chapter on "Writing a Product in Python" which is rather important if you want to get anything interesting accomplished.
Also, not to get too picky, but the code snippets don't match up and when you go to look for a full listing in the back it's the only one not listed. It's a thick book already; I don't see why they didn't add the extra pages.
Disregard for the moment that the 'War on Drugs' is just a big scam meant to line the pockets of those fighting it and consider the implications of P2P selective breeding. All the money spent on the WoD ends up paying for the yardwork needed to produce better blow. As this story breaks strategically misguided efforts will force a policy change that will force local farmers to grow the target crop as efforts to grow 'legal' crops will become less viable due to short-term countermeasures. A local farmer is more likely to plant what is going to make him money opposed to pissing in the wind while trying to grow microfungus infected corn nobody will buy.

Here's anotherKorean bot kit. Fun stuff. I saw them demo the quad w/RF module. Takes some of the fun out of it, but then again you can concentrate on AI if that's your thing.
This already exists. It's called X3D, an XML-ized VRML. It works, it's extendable, it's XML. To me it seems that all these "industry" folks want to do is re-package VRML now that there's actual hardware and market to support it. I wouldn't concern myself with this much. Just go on creating fantastic stuff with the tools you have and let your actions dictate what becomes a standard. These people obviously have nothing better to do.
It's none of their business what I or anybody else does with a network. Just another great reason to encrypt your traffic. Seems like their just shooting themselves in the foot to me. My first instinct is to say let them go for it, but then the idea of "your tax dollars at work" comes to mind and on second thought I think it's a rather lame waste of money as all they'll see from me is line noise;)
I don't see why people don't automatically post a torrent link. Better yet it should be automatic that slash proxy/wrap all links with a torrent file. Neil?
- People in the business of selling a propritary transmission medium WANT YOU TO USE THEIR NETWORK!
Networks are for communication. If the RIAA wants to snoop; they snoop. If you want to swap; you swap. It's none of their business what you do, just as it's none of your business what they do. They have money and political influence; you probably don't.
Use caution when slaying a beast. Just because it's down doesn't mean it can't rear it's ugly head and take you out.
Use common sense; use crypto. Learn how to use it. Make it easy for others to use.
Not only did he electrocute dogs and other small animals, he also electrocuted larger animals such as horses and the largest of all land creatures elephants.

OK, I'll bite...
- It's just plain silly. If you don't see that than you're bitter and ignorant.
- It gets the signal where it needs to be
- It gets the gear out of the way of sticky fingers
- It gets the gear out of the way so as not to clutter things up
- It saves you from having to pull in another line
- It makes it easy to add access where needed
- You can hack what ever you want onto the end of it...

Actually, since you mention it, most of the tech that's inside was developed by Tesla. AC power (induction motor), florescent light, and wireless communication are all courtesy of Mr. Tesla. I find it amusing it all fits inside a form factor attributed to Edison. If you don't find this even remotely silly (pun intended. yes, I know I'm sick;) you need to stop reading slashdot for a minute and hit google for a refresher course on geek history.
