  4. Re:Very Awesome on Pocket PCs Masquerade as iPods · · Score: 1

Since almost all new Apple notebooks have blue tooth, why not make the iPod blue tooth for simple downloading of music!? that would be very nice... and be able to share songs walking down the street. Wouldn't it cool, you have an iPod with a with list of songs you want but can't find... walking down the street and walking by someone who has it, and downloading it in the time it takes to walk by them.

  5. Paying for Content on More Online Publishers Inching Toward Paid Content · · Score: 2, Insightful

I would have no problem paying for News and such content. My major gripe is the lack of pictures and or videos in the news content. Most online news sites rearly have any pictures associated with the news article, and when they do have one or two, they are all nice and small. If these news paper providers gave me well written articles, with decent pictures or size and quality, and give me the opertunity to setup my own "virtual news paper" I could have e-mail to me each day, I would be more than happy to pay. Until then... no.

  9. Java looks like crap on Java Desktop System Review · · Score: 1

My company developed software for Windows and Linux using Java, the main problem with Java Debelopment is that it looks like it came out of early 1990... it just looks like crap in this day and age... sorry, if you want to convince my PHB that Java is a good idea more often, MAKE IT LOOK GOOD.

  12. Not always on Will Open Source Ever Become Mainstream? · · Score: 1

I work for a company who has a competitor who has continually copied everything from us. On a number of occasions we have put allot of time and effort into software for our product, which they manufacture a similar yet much lower quality. What has been happening over the years is that we develop software, or support people developing software, and all they do then is get other people to modify it to be used with their product. So all of a sudden, our company spends time, money and other resources to develop software for our product, and then it gets modified to their needs with out ever spending anything (time or money). This time around, we helped develop software, but made sure it was 100% close sourced, and our software can't be modified to be used with their product. By keeping the software-closed source, we are protecting OUR investment... so no, I do not believe that open source is the way to always go.
