so you want me to pay for music that i would otherwise download from kazaalite? yea, sure, i'll get right on that, maybe i'll make a switch commercial too. somehow i don't feel bad about ripping off the soulless music industry.

if the sender has to pay, then people will try to find ways to defer the cost. i.e. ads in the actual email itself. so instead of you getting spam that you just delete, people start putting the spam at the foot of their email. i would find this much more anoying then just spam i can avoid. of course it already is anoying enough that free mail services do it.

i spilled my bong on my laptop.
i called dell two days later after it dried out. When i talked to them i just played dumb, i was like um it doesn't turn on. the tech support guy asked me all the usual stupid questions. then they sent out a tech to my place. he looked at it, said i spilled something on it.
    I was like who me?
He's like i don't care, i don't work for dell. he had them do a full system replacement.
a week later dell techs call me and are like it appears there is residue from some liquid inside your laptop.
Me: Did one of your techs spill something on my computer.
Them: uh, ok, we'll have your laptop back to you in about a week. moral of the story with proper social engineering you can get almost anything fixed on a computer in warranty, the key is just playing dumb because the tech support guy wants to keep your call time low and doesn't want to spend 30 mins just to find out he's going to replace your system. this is because tech/customer support is managed by their stats. i know this because i worked for palm a while back.

oh yea and they aren't using QuickTime because it's the best video technology, they are using it for two reasons
1)apple is using their bandwidth(small cost)
2)apple paid fox to sponsor it.

you know the funny thing is i did do the advanced install, i learned a long time ago never to trust anything that gets installed on my computer. I run a tight ship on my windows box because you have to. i would rather use windows media player because it loads faster, but it's still microsoft. I only use MS OS's because i essentially have to. I'm truely a Warp OS/2 / Linux user. but in this day and age you can find nothing for Warp that you don't have to use in a windows emulator. almost the same thing for linux but that is changing. Now when i did install quicktime it literally took over all movie files on my computer. which annoyed me to no extent. i do know how to change it back with any normal non-MacCrap program. I even went as far to modify the registry by hand, which i should not have to do. So after i watched the matrix short I took the great pleasure in uninstalling it. I prolly wouldn't have uninstalled it if it hadn't converted any media file in IE to quick time. as for Mac bashing, any chance i get i love to bash mac's... with a baseball bat. because that's the only thing a mac is good for. admittedly you can make some nice graphics with the fruity looking things but that is no reason to buy one. call me a troll if you like but people often fear the truth.

but just like with the matrix short they released it's in quicktime, now when i installed that horrible program on my computer it completely took over all of my media. after i watched the matrix preview i imediately uninstalled that piece of crap. so what i'm really saying is: Movie industry you aren't making any friends by letting apple host your previews.

i play this game and have for almost 6 years now. the sad thing is there is an ingame jail and there is soap in the jail. what's even sadder is we constantly make jokes about the gamemasters(customer service) screwing people in the jail. i really don't know why this made slashdot i know a multiple dozen of people who have been "hacked". i also know a lot of people who sell gold in this game. it's not worth 25$ per million. not even close the prices have dropped most recently to 15 or 20 a million gold pieces. leave it to a government to exagerate when someone's life is on the line. or when they want big media portrayal. on a side note the biggest problem right now is paypal scams. this works where a prospective buyer sets up a deal for multiple millions of gold pieces, usually in the US dollar price range of 500-900$, then when the seller delivers they tell paypal they didn't receive there goods and paypal refunds the buyers money, thus screwing the seller. like i said before i know people who farm gold in this game, and they make quite a bit of cash doing it. one friend went even as far as to setup a 20 computer farm to "macro" ingame. Easyuo[easyuo.com] is used to macro, check it out if you would like to learn more.
