Gnome isn't really like windows CE it's a resource hog from my experience.
When they mod something to run Linux does it usually come with Gnome? Are their multiple distro's? Or is there a precompiled distro for the hardware in question?
I know it sounds ugly but there are lots of projects which can't be developed under opensouce because there is no room for liscencing costs etc, if there was a plausible businessmodel which generated even limited revenue they could use that money to smooth some of the area's that only money can smooth.
Canada theoretically has false advertising policies maybe we should be enforcing them better.
go to Canada.ca and search for Advertising Regulation, fill in form. They have an increadibly high rate of doing something about false advertising.
Of course make sure you're not just angry but actually have been wronged, Canadian government doesn't like having it's time wasted more than anyone else, and that would be a bad blacklist:)
He knew there would be problems with the election results but he conceeded gracefully in order to restore some measure of Unity.
There is of course another method of assuring fairness it's called impeachment. However Bush will deny any involvement with the people who stuffed ballots.
If I knew what the last generation knew that would be useful?
Apprenticeship offers hands on experience but that isn't useful in computers, if I know/bash and you know/bash then we know/bash.
Furthermore technology is changing so fast that almost no one can keep up with it, let alone people already in the workforce, and saddled with a pimply apprentice?
Not until there are standards which will stand for more than a week.
Linux already has a game, it's called Dependencie Rundown.
In the game you have to find countless dependencies which are scattered around the internet. Time runs out when you get to irritated to continue and switch back to Windows.
It's in the tradition of Myst with crytic problems which the game refers to as "error messages".
Unlike other games the rewards come out step by step, after a while you can do all new moves, like play mp3's or Xvid's run LICQ or any of the heap of other tasks Linux is theoretically capable of, just not out of the box.
Since China's currency is locked to the American dollar. (Which means they are dealing with constant DEFLATION [Think about it]). So basically nothing can help the value of their currency without also helping the value of American currency.
To a certain extent their growth is slowing the decline of the American dollar.
Actually China is a relatively cheap manufacturing center with decent working conditions. Furthermore China's needs (as described by American Consumerism) still far outweight their production.
China will have a resource driven economy for a while, fortunatly now there are the six dragons of the far east which they can trade with.
Basically China has it made America is in the crapper, and you're dragging my contry down as well.
As for the U.S. having a strong economy, you don't. Made in America means crap now, your government's policy of setting up regimes to produce cheap goods and labour is all that maintains the standard of living of American's and gives your country an "export" balance (If you buy something for 17cents and sell it for $12 it looks really good on paper).
Basically America is supported by it's military, and it's media and advertising.
All of which will fall in the next 20 years followed by a period of poverty unseen in American history, at the end of which you might make a comeback, though you'll probably be speaking Mandarin or one of the Indian dialects when you do.
I think a bomb should explode in Washington tommorow.
Do you see where this is going?
For the most part the Chinese government is open to outside ideas. However they are attempting to establish unity in a country constantly under assault from American propaganda.
If American TV was full of communist propaganda you wouldn't be particularly surprised if your government reacted, would you?
Is there some system which allows the questioning of a patent?
There is a system in place for a company or individual to claim that the patented item was developed by them first (which almost certainly applies in this case) but is there some way in which say a large corperation when faced with mounting patent costs could file for the patent to be revoked?
Patents are blatantly monopolistic and many of them are surely abused, I can't imagine that someone hasn't patented something like "human speech" or some such nescessary thing and tried to charge totally ridiculous amounts for it's use.
Ironically this is one situation where the solution is sticking your head in the mud.
It's simple looking at suprnova it's clear there are at least 100,000 people using this at any given moment.
They really can't sue or jail them all it's impossible (unless they have some sort of referendum to assess public oppinion and get the publics backing, which seeing as how they are large faceless corporations they probably can't do).
So basically ignore the lawsuits no matter how loud they scream it on the front page and sanity will eventually prevail.
You aren't taking into account the tracker overhead.
I think they might be talking about connections not throughput though... I can see Bittorrent making tonnes and tonnes of connections to other computers. If you were running an isp all those connections would be something of a pain (a little like a dos attack).
But if it is throughput does anyone know how much bandwidth overhead bittorrent usually has? Like a range? I know it depends on block size, number of users, etc. But on average or a range?

I know these things all use standardized chips...
Needs a business model that works.
And someone to demonstrate it.
I know it sounds ugly but there are lots of projects which can't be developed under opensouce because there is no room for liscencing costs etc, if there was a plausible businessmodel which generated even limited revenue they could use that money to smooth some of the area's that only money can smooth.
Such as liscensing fees.
I wonder how the OS is implemented?
Can it be hacked to support Skype I wonder?
Someone get on this!
And don't do it like what I had to do to my Xbox.
I wouldn't have gotten Live but it pisses me off that now I can't.
Maintain Game compatibility but get skype on that mofo!
Course the dollar is falling, look at the price of the high end video cards vs the last generation and the generation before.
Hope it get's outsourced to India.
Thumbs are needed for controllers so all face buttons become inaccessible while moving.
Also I think you underestimate the importance of having a variable turning radius is of vital import.
Quake 1 has all the vital commands.
Actually I couldn't find it either.
I know it exists but if I can't find it there is a problem.
If the people in Marketting took into account word of mouth there would be no more Marketting.
See at some point you ACTUALLY OFFER BETTER VALUE AND CUSTOMERS WOULD COME.
Or I guess you could spend about 40-60% of your revenue on advertising. Can you imagine 10-12% cheaper computer parts and what that would mean?
Canada theoretically has false advertising policies maybe we should be enforcing them better.

Thank god for humour. Trying to grasp the horrors done in the name of facism might break the right wing mind otherwise.
Now go forth Fight terror!
They need some custom hardware just for this... That would be so awsome!
Right now one of these rigs is pretty pricey if you don't already need one.
Long term cheaper than a cell of course but other considerations, when WiMax is available in subways and Cell phones aren't people will switch.
1. Design open source business model that can offer something like Skype-Out.
2. ???
3. Profit
Open source is brilliant for many things but ongoing services or support are not one of them.
Skype to Skype fine, but it also has instant skype out functionality, the ease of use makes up for the price.
When everyone has skype it will be free, then if they spyware/adware it we can all switch.
The Napster and Kazaa switches was relatively painless.
Crown? Stability? And you didn't use the word Tyan?
You must be Mad... I have a ASUS board right now but that's because performance is more important to me.
However Tyan makes hight end stability boards exclusively, check out some reviews about the quality of their graphics and mobo's if you don't believe.
Not the fastest though.
In countries with a decent economy new companies are being created all the time.
So this might appeal to them.
I'm amazed, Kerry did the right thing!
He knew there would be problems with the election results but he conceeded gracefully in order to restore some measure of Unity.
There is of course another method of assuring fairness it's called impeachment. However Bush will deny any involvement with the people who stuffed ballots.
And the republicans control the courts...
Well we'll wait and see.
Being a war president might once have been glorious but this kind of war is totally lacking in Glory.
Hey wasn't it a smooth move to utterly destroy Hiroshima! Wasn't it cool?
No this isn't a good way to get into the history books.
Macarthur was a badass, Alexander, Napolean, even Rommel, Bush... cough yea right.
Quake 3 on Dreamcast wasn't too bad.
:( No Multiplayer wtf!
I'm pretty hardcore about PC gaming but it's fun to whip out four controllers and just go at it without lugging boxes around.
Quake 1 for dreamcast was pathetic though
If I knew what the last generation knew that would be useful?

Ohhh I'm going to play right now, I'm at a boss!
China isn't bound by capitalism or democracy the way the U.S. and Japan were.
I think making assumptions about a parrelel problem are premature.

You clearly have no perspective.
Once again I hate American's.

pssst... meet me behind the phone box, come alone.
