    Like you mean they probably think it's illegal for the RIAA to remove all rights to privacy, free speech, and justice? Well for them I guess that's offshore.

    The only thing that really bugs me about this is I wish this concept was refered to with a word that included Canada.

    It sadens me to think my nation has enough policy in Common with the states that they don't consider us a danger to their freedom.

    We're right at the bottom of terrorist threats too.

    Having been to China I can tell you that they have NO problem with IDEA's that are actually good.

    Would they have a hard time switching to a better system, yes, are they open to the idea, Also yes.

    It's really simple, they would listen to Gnome Chompsky but Kick the living crap out of Michael Moore. Why? Because one actually knows something about politics.

    They take politics rather seriously over there, tryouts can be a bitch though :)

    Actually Japan collapsed for another reason.

    Though part of it is what you are talking about.

    Their research isn't progressing where it needs to yet. Their country devoted itself singlemindedly to the war, then to industrial and economic growth, now they feel they are better than everyone else so they are essentially wanking.

    If you go for a haircut there will be 6 haircutters, people sweep the streets in business suits. Basically their entire economy went from manufacturing to service in a generation.

    Service economies are total bullshit, guess what YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF!

    The U.S. went from a manufacturing economy in the 50's to a pure greed mentality in the 80's to a purely consumer driven society in the 90's. It's amazing how changes like this can sweep a whole nation.

    Unfortunatly all these trends are negative, it's just the ignorant bouncing around. The people really gettting work done just say, hey there's this thing, might be worth doing, let's do it.

    Their governments tend not to privatize things as potential dangerous as nuclear power by choosing the lowest bid.

    I'm pretty sure the people against nuclear energy have some pretty scary statistics they could show you. I just found out the amount of nuclear waste which we dump in the ocean every year, it's a LOT!

    Doing nuclear isn't cheap, it'll get cheaper every day.

    Liberals tend not to think that Oil has to cost in Iraqi lives, Right Winger's Do.

    However for the most part I think you'd find that liberals (like everyone) would be pleased with Nuclear energy if it was

    a.) Well run, so the need for constant monitoring wasn't just a possibility of catching some pretty heinous acts.

    b.)Located safely, we understand the problems ascosiated with Nuclear Power let's use that information this time hmm?

    c.)Nuclear waste was disposed of safely, which is getting cheaper and easier thanks to new reactor designs coming out of Canada, France, and Japan.

    So what I'm saying is if you can fix all the problems with Nuclear power you can get anyone behind it, and those problems mainly have to do with financing, now if the American government has the balls to stop the war machine you might see this happen. Otherwise expect more bitching.

    If you consider the growth of infrastructure in China to the rate of upgrading in the west is it any wonder they are ahead?

    They are clearly putting in far more effort than any western government to modernize their country.

    This is silly, they are considering the motivation. These people can afford computers so they are not starving therefore any crime of a financial nature by these people is pure greed.

    There are alternative justifications for crimes such as rape.

    Some people take those crimes increadibly personally, (which may be a sideeffect of the propaganda used to discourage negative behavior).

    Spammers are engaging in an utterly destructive and antisocial crime, their chances of rehabilitation using common methods is almost nill.

    If it were possible to have a perfect determination of the antisocial motivation of an individual spammer the penalty should be INCREADIBLY harsh.

    Can the Open Source community ever accept closed source paid programming?

    It's also an additional cost on an already expensive hobby.

    If this was open source I could see it working, but like this?

    An open demo of software as powerful as this might be useful in some other system but it's definitly a lock in in this case. The games will all become useless when the software is deactivated.

    I can't see this working, in fact this may be a situation where the windows cracking community might lend a hand.

    The game core runs on OpenGL as well so actually it's one of the simpler games to port.

    Not to say the Mac porting community is just lazy or anything.

    I was thinking about that, what would you need for the perfect gaming machine. Entirely theoretical :P

    Basically to get past the point where software is at now (remember it will take a long LONG time for software to be able to model really complex systems, we need to scale the nuclear model). However there are graphics right now which they are attempting to render in real time, TOY STORY!

    All the CGI animations coming out of say PIXAR are lightyears ahead of what we see in games right now, however it is all computer modeled and ready to go as soon as we have the hardware to push it.

    I remember this one time I was making a quake 1 map.

    I decided to make a light sphere, just a sphere that was a light. (Some of you already know where this is going). Anyway I decided that 1000 sides was pretty good :P Then 200, then 100, then 50, well that one was compilable, it took 3 hours on my p3 550 with a TNT2 in it. Ah getting 1 frame a second those were the days.

    Conclusion: We still have a LONG WAY to go.

    Bush has stated that in order to "protect" (from what, exactly?) marriage

    I don't agree with Bush but the institution of marriage is definitly falling appart, the majority of marriages don't last anymore as opposed to about 99% in the past.

    There are monetary and political reasons of course, but the main reason for marraige as opposed to civil union is to give stability in order for reproduction, (and to concentrate on work?), apparently this emotional commitment from both sides also acts as a chance to excercise apathy in the face of a loved one (hey it's not like he/she can leave anymore :P).

    Once you step outside the law you step outside the law.

    You are basically saying the law doesn't apply to you (in this situation, defaulting on taxes or killing someone puts you farther outside).

    That being said the person did come up with what was asked for, if someone wanted a job done and you did it to their satisfaction you should be paid.

    This guy taught this kid that he will be scammed even when he tries to enter society, which isn't really something we should be teaching people.
