Who is this Linus Torvalds guy?
Must be one of those lunatics, who think they can write an entire OS and change the world ... yeahh

  2. Looking for a job? on Talking With 2.0 Kernel Maintainer David Weinehall · · Score: 5, Insightful
Since I'm currently unemployed, I'd really like to take the chance to do some shameless self-advertising: anyone who needs a Debian-developer, kernel-maintainer, system-administrator/integrator (Linux, AIX, and Solaris experience), or programmer of C, 6510-assembler or PHP (yes, I can do website development, just don't ask me to do the design; I can do all (X)HTML/CSS for them, but you wouldn't like me to do the artworks...)

How come that such a skilled person with enough references can't find a job?

  3. 2.6 on server? on 2.4 vs 2.6 Linux Kernel Shootout · · Score: 5, Insightful

Those benchmarks are nice, but who runs kernel 2.6 on production servers that need every speed they can get? It will be a few more 2.6.x releases until I consider running one of my servers with a 2.6 kernel.

Yup, 100% agree. SuseOpenExchange is far too expensive and this is the only alternative I see right now. Maybe Kroupware in the near future...

Good point! I agree that you need far less staff to administer *NIX boxes than staff for W2K boxes, but the *NIX admins get far more paid than a MCSE admin administering a W2K box...now do the math..
