Back when we were writing Doom the fact that we could even emulate 2d was a technical first. Don't try to tear down something you can't understand. I'm not upset that I wasn't consulted about this movie as I've wireframed all the original objects and mailed them on cd to the people involved. Yes, even the chainsaw. I'm as excited as you people to go see this in theatres.
I know that it didn't work out well as a game but I think Daikatana has potential for the screen as well.
First of all I'd like to thank everyone who has expressed an interest in MonkeyStone. Back when I was writing Doom, you know, we were pretty sure that multiplayer was the wave of the future. I have that same feeling now about wireless handhelds. They are the future of gaming, you know, and it's the same technical hurdles all over again: scarcity of storage, slow processors, the whole nine yards. So, in some ways, the challenge is familiar.
I think we're succeeding, though, and it feels good to be at the forefront of gaming development again, pushing the envelope. I encourage everyone in the gaming community to come check out where we're leading the industry.
