Isn't it funny that Snopes managed to debunk this particular murder before a police report was available?

They make a good point when they state:

Police reported that Rich was conscious and breathing at the time of the shooting. Had he any information about his murder having been a set-up, he likely would have conveyed such to attending officer before he died of his wounds shortly thereafter.

  7. Am I missing something from the summary? Israel's Minister of Internal Security said that a murder could have been prevented if Facebook told them about somebody's post, and now they're pushing for laws that make Facebook take down posts they don't like. How are the 2 related? How does the power to take down posts help them identify hateful posts?

You're right, this is about fake viewers, aka viewbots. This makes a Twitch streamer appear more popular than they really are, which causes them to get a higher ranking in listings of popular streamers. I would argue that streamers that do this are defrauding Twitch and viewers by lying to them about how many *people* are watching their stream.

Yes, I read that an experiment like this has been tested before in the Netherlands. It was criticized because just like this experiment, it's a temporary short-term experiment. You wouldn't quit your job if you found out you were going to get extra free money for a year. The decisions you make in your life wouldn't be very different from how they are now, you'd just have more money to save or spend on things.

However, if you knew you were getting free money for life you might make different decisions. We'll never know the true repercussions of a universal basic income until we have a long-term study of people and pay them for their entire lives.
