And yet, the same is true of all the other nations as well. We are talking German, Hiragana, Katakana, Mandarin, Hindi, Tamil, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, etc. Now of the others have MONSTER BIG RED SPOTS. So, why do you think that you are different?
Now how about moving to Electric cars. Seriously, The USPS could make a dent in lowering their costs, as well as getting electric cars in the USA moving. They currently buy most of their vehicles from AM General, which are basically CJ-5's, called DJ5s. Instead, AM General could produce an electric version that got 40-50 miles on a charge. That might sound low, but the average USPS vehicle travels less than 30 miles daily(yes, that little). So, with 40-50 miles / charge, they have plenty left over. And if AM General did this up right, they would get a load of work their way.
Cars, like computers, are all about add-ons. For regular cars, it is about the motor, etc. With electric cars, you do not have that. Now, Tesla is enlisting the geek world. Real smart on their part.
They made one big mistake. They should create a special plug for the rear of these cars, along with a hitch. That way, trailers can be added to give distances. The hitch should provide not just communications, but most importantly, it should allow for enough DC to run the car, or at least charge it to some large amount. With that approach, they will encourage different trailers that will use different techs to compete against each other. I image the first one would be a Motor/generator combo that would also allow for some small amount of cargo. Later, it might be ultra-caps, or fuel-cells, etc. The trailers could then be bought our rented. br.regardless, Tesla needs add-ons to involve loads of manufacturers.
You are gripping about the anti-nukes. They are a problem. We ALL KNOW THAT. Sadly, the pro-nuke has a SERIOUS ISSUE: PEOPLE LIKE YOU. You point the finger everywhere EXCEPT at ourselves. The fact is, that Nukes has its share of issues. A big part of it, is that ppl are trying hard to grab every single penny (and more) on the table.
Look, the nuke industry needs to come forward and say YES, we have issues with the old stuff. However, we are now working on new stuff that has passive safety. Likewise, when somebody offers up criticism, then they should respond to it, not try to hide. For example, a number of engineers fought for, and then quit, over the issue that the cover over spent fuel was not good enough. GE said otherwise. So, where is all of the radiation coming from right now? From the fact that GE did not build a solid cover over the spent fuel. Had they spent just a little bit more money, then we would have ZERO issues.
Hell, TMI was caused because of 3 reasons:
B&W had some issues with values sticking and the sensors not showing correctly.
techs that did not interpret things correctly
B&W did nothing to notify others
Yet, they are about to produce their mPower. If they learned hard lessons from before, they will learn that they do not have ALL answers, and will right now, produce a new harden cover for the new mPower system.
Yeah, I doubt that any Au was involved.
It was likely somebody was a name dropper: Litvinenko.:)
And yes, I know that Po is not poland, but nothing else was close.
Nice thought, but it will not happen. Not for some time to come.
First, the big 3 states on this is TEXAS, Illinois, and Iowa.
Second, we spend about 20 billion a year. OTH, EU spends about 80 billion a year on a much smaller crop output (4 times the money on less ag output). And none of this includes China, India, Brazil, etc. who are also heavy subsidizers. About the ONLY 2 none subsidized nations would be Australia and New Zealand.
But if we can get nations to drop tariffs and subsidies, then a lot of this would straighten out.
But it does not have to be. Instead, look up Joules Unlimited. They are using cyanobacteria to spit out various compounds. And what is interesting is it simply uses waste water. No feed stock of any type. And it simply excretes hydrocarbons. Not alcohols, but C8H18. That then floats on water. And available at an equivalence cost of 30-50/bl. All while cleaning up our sewer.
OTH, out here in the west, we have issues with so many of the drillers starting to frack on the crude. Not just using CO2 for the working fluid. Phenol and many other items being used. Not normally a problem, except when the well's leack. And flood into our aquifers. The issue here, is that the west gets much of its water from Aquifers. Upon fracking destroying one aquifers, it destroys it for MILES.
I will take the bio-fuel over crude oil since it is CHEAPER and cleaner.
Hmmm. So, medicare system along with Germany's TOTAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, since it is is modeled after USA's Medicare system, are NOT universal health care? Wow. Tell that to the German's. They will be upset.
while OSC has a 100% failure rate on launching Climate sats. All 3 of them. And every loss was due to OSC who builds so very little of their launch vehicle.
OSC builds little of this rocket. The one thing that they build is the fairing. ALL 3 of their failures were climate sats. ALL 3 were the fairings. Sadly, OSC is suppose to launch the replacement for OCO (OCO2). I would like to see us build a third one along with the second. It will be cheap insurance. Either that, or fire OSC from doing climate sats (along with firing whoever selected OSC for the latest climate sats).
OSC has had 3 failures with this rocket. All 3 were climate satellites. NONE of the others failed. But to make matters interesting, OSC builds LITTLE of their launch vehicles. They just assemble them. They really do so little. Yet, the ONE item that they build is the fairing. And yet, on all 3 launches, it was the fairing that failed.
To make matters a bit more interesting, they won the launch for OCO2, which is the follow on of one of the sats that they lost. They just won in jun 2010. At this point, NASA needs to consider one of 2 actions:
1) fire OSC as well as the NASA idiot that awarded them the contract for OCO2. And then allow other American LVs to bid on it.
2) build a 3rd OCO along with #2. If they do this, it will cost them only about 10-20 million. Sounds like a lot, but it is not. With this approach, when OSC fails (and they will if this is not built), then we can launch with SpaceX or ULA within 6 months or less.
Finally, OSC should not even be considered for human launch awards.
And so much from NASA. Seriously, NASA releases just about everything, while CHina gives just enough to try and make themselves sound nice. Yet, it is a fraction of what they recover. WHy? Because their space program is a MILITARY system, not a civilian one. For you westerners pushing for us to work with China on space, keep in mind that you are helping on weapon systems that will be pointed at us.
Wish that I had not replied. I had points. I would have modded you up.
There really is little doubt that Iran is in the process of making nukes. At this point, I think that we just leave Iran and Syria a simple message:
Blow a nuke on your soil and we will send in conventional missiles to destroy your bases and your ability to produce them. Blow a nuke off your soil OR send up a single missile pointed towards ANY nation, and all of our incoming missiles will have nukes.
Oh cool. So, lets have the west drop ours and then I am sure that we can get Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, shortly Burma (who is getting massive help on a 'medical' reactor that is buried 100' in the ground by China and North Korea) and in about 5 years Venezuela to drop all of theirs just by asking them to.

If assange was serious about wikileaks, then he would release those russian cables. Bet he will not.

Netflix has all of Stargate, Sliders, Firefly, earth2, and many other things..

Nope, just in your tea, when you had some with an old friend.
What? Australia or Poland?
:)

Wikileaks is sitting on all sorts of good stuff about Russia. Why does Assange not release that?
"It still needs another decade before China-made chips meet the needs of the domestic market. Hopefully after two decades, we will be able to sell our China-made CPUs to the US just like we are selling clothes and shoes."
All of these companies that work inside of China are only slitting their throats.

piracy is driven by high prices in developed nations as well.
Bigelow wants to put up their units on the moon. The US and other western aligned nations need to get this going as quickly as possible.
really? Please tell me of successful launches that did not involve private space in the USA.
Where is Werner von Braun when we need him?
dead.

ALL 3 loses of the taurus WERE climate sats. The amazing thing is that NASA awarded them the contract for sending up OCO2. That needs to be looked at.
