Yeah, the skeeters came out after I was done. Interestingly, was developed by a guy that we used to race against on the c-scows (buddy melges who also owns the melges boat works; also a gold medal winner). Never went on that, but, I did occasionally go on a Nite (developed by another guy that we used to sail scows against). Never cared for that boat. If a nite tipped, I always felt like the mast would be tore off(or just have a stay be snapped), and half of your body was exposed. At least with the DN, you still have the nasty fall, but typically did not have to worry about the boat landing on you. Though I did hear of one guy on neighboring lake had his neck snapped from the fall. Thankfully, he died quickly.

It was suppose to have a centrifuge module added (CAM). It was designed SPECIFICALLY for growing life in varying Gs. From that we would know exactly how certain life will respond to the moon, mars, or even something in between so that we can design a ship for long term travel. It appears that NASA may have the shuttle thrust upon them for another year or two. If so, I would like to see us restore the CAM and put it up there. While the original module will not work (been exposed to the elements in japan), we have multiple modules that would work. Heck, we could put up a Sundancer or a BA-330 along with the centrifuge. Then move a number of the units from Columbus to the Bigelow and then put the centrifuge in Columbus. This is probably one of the single largest reasons to have the ISS. This kind of work can not be done on the moon. Of course, I would suspect power would be a problem. Russia no longer has their solar cells, and we are adding more power hogs with out increasing the cells.

Had issue after issue after issue with them. In the end, after spending 20K and still not having SQUAT from them, I called it quits. That is why Sling has a product and we did not. Otherwise, the unit would be different and it would have come from Colorado.

Do yourself a favor and do it local. Once you have the product selling, if you still feel like you can increase the margins by getting it done overseas, then and only then do it. Just keep in mind that Asia does not have the same laws and know it. Basically they will nickle and dime you to death. And for the states, I suggest knowing EXACTLY upfront what you need done. Shop around. They all have specialties of items that are one offs. There are a number of chips out there that will allow you to try various ideas.

One last thing. If you get your company going, if I may suggest, keep your engineers local. If you go over to Asia, any ideas you have will likely end up in some other product before yours is out the door.

I am willing to bet, that their production line will be full for the first 3 years of this car. As it is, the roadster is a total sell out even at double the price. Aptera? I am guessing that they will sell OK, but will not be years our for sales UNTIL the next oil crisis. At that time, the Atera's sales will occur quickly (just like the prius). But I would still guess that Tesla S will sell more in their first month, than Aptera sells in their first year. The simple fact is, that Aptera's price will appeal to lower sells, but the body style and the company will not. OTH, Musk is selling to those WITH LOADS OF MONEY. With that said, I really wish that Tesla would have done a minivan first AND added the option for a trailer. The electrics have a limited range, and are better suited for the family car. A minivan will appeal to a lot of women who have 2-3 kids and want to haul dogs, grocery, etc. The trailer hitch is not to pull a regular load, but a mini trailer that contains a power source (say a ICE/generator or a fuel cell or a JTEP). That would encourage new add-ons by others.

Speaking of add-ons, HOEFULLY, the car should have a pluggable bus to encourage new cards to be built just for this. What they need is buy-in by other vendors.
