Probably working at Valve. You know, the guys who got their source code stolen by running a beta copy of Outlook? Or at least that's what they claimed and you've got to have done something REALLY stupid if that's the best cover story you can come up with.
Do you not use spreadsheets much or if you do is it mostly just for making simple lists? Because beyond REALLY basic stuff Calc becomes very difficult to use. Not in the "I can't figure how to do something" way, but in the "it takes way too many steps to do it and decreases productivity significantly" way.
Too bad, really. Because now that OpenOffice is so established in the open source community no one is going to take it on and no one is going to push for significant improvements and actually get any of them done. Sort of a similar situation with GIMP. It's almost enough to make me wish that I didn't completely hate using windows and mac.
A few years ago I heard that barrels were going to be the new crate, but I haven't seen that happen yet. I'm still holding out for baby carriages to be the new crates, so long as they're fully destructible.
I don't happen to have a modchip to allow me to play backups, but that's because I haven't had enough broken discs to justify the cost. I have had one of my games bitten threw by my nephew and if I had small children living with me I'd definitely have one. So I guess you're in favor of Nintendo or Sony or whoever providing me replacement discs to my licensed software whenever anything happens to the original?
Allow me to refer you back to the post I was replying to. Emphasis is mine.
They are only an issue because users are stupid. I can run windows xp or vista without any antivirus software or antispyware or even a firewall. I'm not stupid, I don't click the ecards that make you download.exes then run them. The problem with windows is that it has the most users, and most of them know nothing about computers and end up running the viruses by themselfs. Macs have quite a few unpacthed vulnerabilities aswell. They all have their flaws.
Please don't try to portray me as some kind of Linux zealot, since (as I've mentioned over and over again) I don't actually like Linux. I definitely don't like redhat and am only slightly more likely to defend it than a mac.
You're wrong however if you are trying to make the argument that windows is as secure as even a shoddy Linux.
I'm pretty sure those were downloading the font pack from microsoft site and then installing them, which was explicitly allowed in the eula. They weren't bundling, which was not allowed. microsoft just didn't like it and threw a fit.
Not that I'm defending macs in any way, but you do realize that there have been quite a few remote exploits (in the wild, not theoretical) that require nothing other than having a windows computer online and having its card pulled by another infected machine, right? It's not about if you're "smart" enough not to click on something, but if you were a bit brighter you'd already know that.
Also, it's missing most of the icons in the control center which I would have thought the GP would nitpick before something as stupid as the device icons which you shouldn't be seeing anyway since you should be using the command line!
Being able to ditch the Qt3.5/Qt4 dual install is a good enough reason to bump the version number as far as I'm concerned. I just hope we're not waiting two years to see some of the really cool stuff they have planned.
This needs to be moved to the "apple" or "idontgiveafuck" section so that it doesn't get mixed in with the half-, quarter-, one-eight-, or "any bit at all-" interesting dupes^Wstories.
As to "proper" I was referring to the GP's comment about virtual desktops and focus follows mouse. Since you've started off your little rant so poorly by a) whining about things you haven't read and b) being an idiot I'm not going to bother with the rest. Next time start by reading and follow it with thinking. But the reading first since it comes first and seems like it'll be the easier option for you.
Allow me to nominate ByteAlluvion for the name of the coming open source fork of the BitTorrent protocol.
No banks use Java here that I know of, and they still work cross-platform.
Do people really have their browsers configured to load Java? I haven't had that in years and don't miss a damn thing.
Prince, Capsian? I do hope that isn't a real name.
I think they write it because they like ad revenue. But I could be wrong, it's bound to happen sooner or later.
My point wasn't that America spend less, Of course they spend more, we have more people.
We spend more per person, moron. A lot more.
Exactly! That's why we have the cheapest, highest quality health care system in the world!

Anyone?

Well they already have a text-based version of Doom 3 for Linux. For some odd reason you type "clear" to start it. Weird.
Well it's sort of complicated to explain. Perhaps I have a good car analogy to demonstrate why just explaining something is too difficult...

I'll take TWO if I can load adblock on it.
I've never signed a form when I bought a game console, moron. And I never will because there's no way they could get people to do it.
Seriously, how do you manage to operate a computer with so much brain damage?
They've been bragging about how they "run UNIX" at home for years already, so it's probably already started somewhere.
It's in the IT section, too, moron.
