I'd say that the installers are there, though most programs don't seem to use them. If you take a look at the installer used with Unreal Tournament 2004 you'll see that it's damn near identical to the Windows version.
You can check it out here, It's called Loki Setup and has all the clickedy clacking fun that a windows user could ever want.
There are some other similar installers running around, but I forget what they're called.
micros~1 has more money than anyone could possibly know what to do with. If Windows could be fixed why hasn't it been fixed by now?
You can argue that Windows has superior software selection and installed user base. But you can't argue that it's not a broken piece of shit that is beyond repair.
A ground up rewrite is their best bet, and there's no way micros~1 will do that anytime soon.

And I don't think it matters much about the license or the superiority of Sega's game. Madden has the big name recognition and is going to sell because it is Madden. That and EA can push more ads than just about anyone in the industry.
Which is really too bad, because I always liked the Sega football games on Dreamcast and their old Joe Montana games on Genesis, but have never liked Madden.
I'm not really sure how big a deal this one is, as seeing how there is really only one competitor this year and they're getting whooped despite being 30$ less.
How much retraining do you really need these days? It's all basically the same stuff, just some of it has different names. I can sit my mom down with Slackware and she has less problem adjusting than when I switched her to Firefox on her Windows machine.
I don't see what morality has to do with it either way. Though I guess it does have psychological rather than physical or tangible effects since you can't exactly hold digital data...

It does get pretty similar battery life to a PSP running games, so I can see how you might get confused.
Not that I care, neither PSP nor DS is looking particularly good to me. Maybe if one of them gets a super duper remake of Dragon Warrior 1&2...
