  1. Works for Valve now on BitTorrent's Creator Bram Cohen Interviewed · · Score: 5, Informative

It's worth quoting from the article that he has been hired by Valve (upcoming Half Life 2) to use his expertise for their Steam content distributing system.

  2. Re:IE is painful on 4 Years Later, The Mozilla Tide Has Turned · · Score: 2, Informative

Firefox is just a name for the development phase. I believe it has been announced that when Firefox and Thunderbird reach 1.0 status, they will be named Mozilla Browser and Mozilla Mail.

  3. Enemy Territory on Good Online FPS Games/Servers For Beginners? · · Score: 4, Informative

Enemy Territory is an incredibly fun team-based game and completely free. Most people are migrating from the (dead) RTCW now, so if you want to join teams and grow along, this is the time.

  4. Belgium on Broadband Pricing Across The World? · · Score: 1

Over here, it's about 40 euro for both ADSL and Cable (128 kbps up/4 Mbps down) - 10GB limit.

  5. Re:Landmark decision to be expected? on CD Copy Protection Case Goes to Court · · Score: 1

Most likely, yes. Cases take a really long time (Dutroux child abuse anyone?) and it has been set out in a previous legislation that computer and IP related affairs have "low priority" in court (much to the anger of the IFPI).

Usually, this is good news as to avoid US-like personal kazaa song swapping cases, but in this case, it can take a long time as well. On the other hand, Test Aankoop has years of experience and knows how to pull the strings both in court and the media, although IFPI will use it as an opportunity to howl at the *evil* consumers again.

  6. Re:registering ? on Trepia: A Buddy List Of Strangers · · Score: 1

Really weird indeed, I got the same thing here. As I suppose no specific ports need to be open, they're probably allowing specific ip ranges only to keep the load down a little until it settles off.

They might well mention this somewhere, though.

  7. Been there - done that? on Grand Theft Auto Released For Free · · Score: 1

If I'm not mistaken, there was a site in the past (a year ago or so) which offered the game legally for free already. The only problem was you had to get the different pieces by clicking various banners and answering questions.

It sounds like a warez site, but it wasn't - they went bankrupt though and I can't really recall its name.

Anyway, it's always nice to get it without too much hassle.
