  1. Will not work on One Answer To Spam: Sell Your Interruption Time · · Score: 1

I doubt if this will ever work.

First, if you try to implement that you confirm your mail exists. Do i need to say more? I get 100 spams (30 - 150) a day to one of my accounts; NO WAY i will ever answer back to any unwanted. Me not in to: field? cancel message. Contains still any of the words i spam filter (all sex terms, gambling, loans, reates, lastminute, etc etc etc) => forward to my spamcop account, then cancel. Comes from certain IPs? Cancel.

For the telephones i have been lucky. I got my first phone (well, mobile) in 1995, and i have NEVER received a SPAM call. I asked for all the telephone companies to keep my info secret; besides of the actual phones i use 4 or 5 of 6 are not registered to me;). I have given the number only where necessary, and will continue that. In case i'd receive a spam call, I'd want to know where they got my number and then who am i talking to. Doing that with an official enough voice gives enough uncomfort to the spammer. If not, "Could you inform the place where you got my phone number that after the next spam call i will receive i will do some legal actions..?"

Easiest solution: strong spam filters and that's it. Maybe opening a special pay - number = like those for adult services, where you will receive your spam calls could be worth trying if you get a lot of telespam.

  2. Get a second level domain... .IT on Kiwi Geeks Seek Domain · · Score: 1

Getting a second level domain here (in Italy) is considered nearly as _NOT_ having a domain at all.

Maybe this is due to the many sites that end .too.it
It takes about 5 minutes to get one - or up to three second level domains of .too.it ... and all free.
the guys offering this are http://html.it ... i'm not saying "hi dudes get now your second level domains here and free, such cool service.." it's not. They hide your real url and show a lousy banner line down on the frame and that disturbs actually quite a lot. if you refresh the site goes back to index page. see what i mean; try e.g this: http://www.hotmail.too.it ??

i think thank to so many people NOT liking THAT service, ALL the second level domains are considered here _by the ordinary people_ as NOT domains. Yea. buenosaires.gov.ar, yahoo.com.br, apple.com.br etc etc etc - "Why didn't they get a (first level) domain of their own?" So too many think it's just something like v3 domain :-/

Good luck for these guys anyway on their try, even though i believe they don't have a big possibility to get it through

maybe in europe the situation is different?
    the offices _DO_ get spam.

and personally, i get spam. both work related and private...
thanx to mail.app at least i use enough filters; without those and before i got about 50 - 100 spams a day. so, enough filters. blocked domains (which include e.g. tripod.com and previously hotmail.com), blocked ips, messages containing certain words (sex and gambling terminology, last minute offers, all unrequested newsletters that cant be cancelled etc) - now maybe 1 - 2 spams reach the mailbox a day, not more.

many people seem to be allowed to send spam from work. including all the demands to go and get a coffee in 5 minutes and all the "funny" jokes in the powerpoint presentations etc. some of thoe "funny" senders are blocked now, and even the .ppt are on the list of the files that go cancelled directly. =)

mail.app seems to have resolved my spam problems. hooray...

linus has done much more. (and i have found no games where you would give neither steve nor linus)

i don't like windows and the things associated to it. and gates is an icon of windows and its negative things. most people to whom i have given the link or sent the app have enjoyed theg game. i have heard no negative comments on it.

if gates was being SO good ... why do so many education and gov places, especially in the third world choose linux?

linux may be better if you can use it well. but OS X can be as good as well imho... because of unix in it. i am a bit lazy to become a linux expert. for a "normal user" OS X is more productive. when you can one day .. hopefully, install and uninstall stuff from linux without terminal (just click and drag etc what you want to un/install) = EASILY, it has really the change to become POPULAR. i still miss a super easy interface and interaction with my computer, linux is "ok" but it stays the 2nd choise. to be used "only if i have to use a pc or if i cannot afford a mac". drag and drop. click. click. drag. installing, uninstalling, configuring etc should be THAT easy. when they will be.. no one chooses microsfot.
