The music industry most certainly is NOT declining. The recorded music industry is, but that's not the whole music industry. Concerts, band paraphernalia, all of those sales are up and rising. The RIAA is just bitching that it's not them that's getting the benefit, mostly because they haven't done shit to deserve it.
The MPAA, I agree for the most part. I believe it's because movies have gotten to a point where executives and focus groups determine what a movie will have in it, rather than a single artist, or a small group of people with vision. All the stuff that's been brilliant and caught on well and made a lot of money lately? Joss Whedon, Kevin Smith, the people behind Blair Witch... all of them small groups of writers who just know how to make a story. The studios, in trying to cater to everyone, end up catering to nobody.
I still enjoy the paper, but I just got a bill to continue my subscription for $40. For Sundays only. That's almost a buck a paper... why would I want to do that? Sure, the Sunday edition has all the sales and ads for local merchants, but I'd think that'd subsidize Sunday delivery. Guess not. Guess the paper just lost $40.
My wife and her brother both had Motorola Qs. They were both abysmal machines, dropping calls, needing reset, lots of random crap. As was the T-Mobile work-alike, the Dash, the HTC Excalibur.
What makes you think that has any kind of legal weight? There's the doctrine of first sale here in the US, and believe it or not, it is mostly still valid.
Depends a LOT on the quality of wiring and electricity that you have. CF bulbs have integrated electronics to get the power to what is needed to light up. If your house power is running out of spec, they can fail pretty quickly. Since an incandescent bulb has a large range of voltage that it'll respond and light up in, there's no problem with them in places with dirtier power.
Which is great, as long as the phone is running. In my experience, WinMo phones need a firmware reset every couple of months or else buttons and functions start flaking out, which is completely unacceptable for a phone. It has happened with every WinMo phone I have seen.
Isn't the PS3 compatible to the latest Blu-Ray spec, whereas a number of others aren't? If it's a fully-featured player, there's probably no reason it wouldn't work (unless it somehow looks for being played on a PS3)
"Alternative information"? Are you saying that vaccines are not a good idea for society as a whole? If so, you are just as much of an idiot as Bill Sardi. They have very few facts, and those that they do have are tortured all to hell to fit their viewpoints. Just look at the asinine "connection" between autism and the flu that Bill Sardi tries to create without having done any actual, you know, studies or science.
Bill Sardi is someone that Lewrockwell.com thinks is valid enough of a commentator to keep posting his idiocy, and if you had the ability to parse basic English you would realize that I'm not lumping the libertarian ideology in with Bill Sardi's "opinion piece" (it's not presented as that... it's presented as a factual article). I'm lumping Lewrockwell.com's credibility in with Bill Sardi, and implying that neither are worth the cost of admission.
Isn't their statistical monitoring service just for Canonical's use, so they know what programs people use most and should therefore concentrate their efforts on? Or are you talking about a different service?
Lew Rockwell also supports idiocy about not using vaccines. Forgive me if I take anything they have to say with a big grain of salt... they've proven that they aren't terribly connected to logic or science.
Because it's an 8 year old OS. People aren't expecting Windows 7 on a "netbook", and Microsoft is setting that expectation. They don't like netbooks... there's no margin. MS would prefer that people always look at them like toys, rather than what they actually are, which is more than adequate for 99% of what people do with their computers. People will still pay for the "real" OS because they're being told that Netbooks are toys, and nothing more.
Vista wasn't terrible, but 7 is much more polished. It feels faster because of GDI fixes, changes to a lot of other systems that make things just flow a lot better... I'd pick 7 over Vista any day. I prefer how relatively lightweight XP and 2000 are, but they don't have the DRM required by MS so they'll never get the DX10 and 11 features that new games are using, so... I'll go with 7 for my games, and keep doing my actual work under Linux.
Everybody has bias. At least most online sources are honest about it.
If you lived as off the grid as the Amish do, you too would probably be exempt. Feel free.

'Boot' has two o's, so 'lose' must be the same! English is a kinda screwy language, but you'd think it wouldn't be THAT hard...

And after that, all you have to do is start making everything a felony! Brilliant!
Since when have those rules been about actual risk, instead of perceived risk?
But... we're in the post-9/11 era now! Terrists! Boogeymen want to kill all good Americans!

Is your doctoral thesis going to be a trasmogrifier?

If he was going for proper spelling, wouldn't it be "djinn", and not "genii"?

Seriously... grow a fucking clue.
Warning: Do not look into laser with remaining eye

Case in point

I'm betting that they're trying to cover for the wireless fees, rather than the licensing stuff.
The Nook still seems like a better deal to me, even without the web browser.
