No need for 133t driving skills ... paying attention and being prepared to react will keep you out of more situations than you can imagine. There are very few truly unavoidable accidents, no matter how badly the "other guy" drives. Unfortunately, not only is the GP right about driver education in the US, most people have an inflated self-evaluation of their driving skills, focusing on following the rules of the road and keeping four (two, for the cyclists) tires on the road. That's a good start, but doesn't go nearly far enough to protect oneself and other souls in the vehicle.

YES to that! Some travel is absolutely required but much (most?) is not. Refuse to fly. Write to the airlines and tell them why you aren't flying. Write your congress-people. Tell them you aren't afraid. Tell them to get rid of the TSA. Do something other than continuing to support federal invasions of privacy and useless expenditure of money.

Do something meaningful to rein the TSA in. Stop flying commercial! As an Alaskan resident, I'm painfully aware that's an inconvenience ... it's a six hour drive from here to the next city. It takes 50+ hours of blatant speeding through Canada to reach the Lesser 48. The TSA and the government aren't listening to any of us peons. The airlines will, though, because they need our business. Stop flying through TSA controlled terminals. Contact your airline(s) and tell them you've stopped flying because of the TSA's overreaching search policies. The Feds will listen when the airlines squawk.

The only reason you've not had an accident is you've managed to be lucky. Speed is the number one cause of accidents, more so when the roadway is icy/snowy. That you don't reduce your speed *enough* in poor conditions is what created the "unavoidable conditions". What you really mean is you were going too fast, an icy spot caught you unaware and you lost control. A car that handles poorly in snow is a tire issue, a car that loses control is a driver issue. If you won't fix your driving issues, buy some good winter tires and drive like you still have shitty tires. Eventually, your luck is going to run out and someone's going to get hurt.

Dialog appears to not be an option -- I couldn't find a "Contact Us" box on YouCut or the parent page.
