There are way too many things you can fashion into explosives. For example, chicken manure has enough nitrates in it you can use it as a replacement for ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate / Fuel Oil.) Knowing our government however, they would use this as an excuse to genetically engineer chickens with lower nitrate poop then try to ban all other varieties.
A few years ago, I was flying back to the U.S. from Germany (via Paris). We flew over the UK, then Scotland, then the flight attendants dutifully asked us to pull down the shades so that people could watch the in flight movie. I, like the rest of the sheeple, pulled down my shade. A while latter, I broke the rules and lifted my shade only to see that we were just starting to come in over the ice flows of Greenland. Seeing the ice as it traced its way from the glacier fields into the water where it broke into small icebergs was an incredible experience. Not long later, the scene was entirely white as far as you can see like when you are flying just over the clouds -- only there were no clouds and it was entirely snow and ice. I managed to go to the back of the plane and watch it all through the back window for the next hour or so. For both myself and the flight attendant, it was one of the most awe inspiring experiences of our lives. They said that it always made them sad when they watched people missing out on this for a movie whenever she flew over Greenland.
A few hours later, we flew in over Labrador and it was just hundreds of miles of networks of rivers flowing over ice and gravel fields. I couldn't help but wonder if the plane went down how long it would take to walk out. There was an occasional road but no settlements, mines, or clear places where a dirt road would go out there. It too was one of my greatest life experiences. Way way better than watching Beverly Hills Cop 26 on the overhead.
Perhaps they will realize that computers can only do what you can already do with a pencil and piece of paper. (They just do it all much faster.) Given that, it is all simply algorithms which are unpatentable. (Of course, if you use the computer to control things, then your piece of paper can be replaced with a joystick or whatever.)
There is actually a copy of Matthew in Hebrew and if appears as if the Greek text comes from it. It was preserved by a series of Jewish scholars who wrote nasty notes in the margins and they used it as they argued against Christianity. Little did they know they were preserving the last Hebrew manuscript of Matthew. Funny how life works.
The delivery speed of these underground blogs is actually not bad. A memory stick with 64GB of material -- a whole library that would take a lifetime to read -- can be walked across town in less time than it would take to beam it across Cuba's slow Internet. What's more, it can be read at one's convenience is virtually impossible for someone to snoop and see what they are reading (ala Facebook / Google / Feds).
It is amazing at how fast data is moved around nowadays compared to the last few thousand years For example, the KJV Bible is 4.35MB in size and it used to take the scribes a year to make a single copy. It would also cost a centurion's annual salary. (I studied Near Eastern Archeology in school.) Now, many times that amount of data can be copied in mere moments. An entire "subversive" library in Cuba can spread like wildfire even at walking speeds.
Perhaps for text books but what about novels? What about travel guides? What about how-to guides? Once a writer achieves a following, they can self publish the electronic versions and use FaceBook and other social media outlets to attract an audience. The self published books can be pushed on Amazon quite easily. Publishers may be useful though for an unknown author who needs assistance in getting the attention they deserve. However, after that first book published by the publisher I suspect many authors will jump ship.
I think I saw a whole slew of these giant plant like pods stacked in the closet of the Supreme Court offices. Hmmmm... They seem a bit emotionless of late.
There will be a huge push now for electronic books under the guise of "convenience" but what it really comes down to is that they will want to "license" the book rather than sell it. At the same time, the electronic versions will simply continue to make the publishers less and less relevant especially for new titles.
There is going to be less meat on the little swallow wings. Less meat == less reason for swallows. Perhaps I should hit a few short winged swallows with my car to select for swallows with more tasty swallow wing meat.
Clearly here is one guy who lacks the sense of curiosity that is supposed to be the hallmark of all physicists. What is in the bag? Is the cat in the bag alive or dead?

You are close... Amazon's strategy is much more simple. When Amazon was just an online retailer with distribution centers in several states, it fought for no sales tax as it would (obviously) help Amazon's sales. The only places where Amazon had problems was in the few states where it had its distribution centers. Amazon's strategy NOW is to go beyond being a simple online sales organization to your daily sales store. Amazon is currently in the process of setting up local _same_ _day_ delivery. You will be able to place your order on Amazon for everything from books to groceries and in a great many cases, Amazon will deliver to your doorstep that same day. Amazon's already been doing this to a limited degree in Seattle and a few other locations. In order for Amazon to do this, they will have to have distribution centers in or near every major city which would in most cases require them to have to collect sales tax. Amazon doesn't want to be in a position where they have to collect sales tax and the other online retailers would not be collecting sales tax putting Amazon at a disadvantage. To even the playing field, Amazon is now not fighting _against_ online sales taxes but is now fighting _for_ online sales taxes.
Personally, I'm against online sales taxes. When you buy something online, you are already paying a "tax" of sorts and that is your _time_. That is a tax or cost to online purchases as it takes up to five days for your products to arrive. If you want your products that same day, you pay an extra (and real) tax by buying local.
What the politicians forget is that the online sales is a wash. If I don't pay sales taxes by buying from something from _their_ state, someone else is not paying sales taxes by buying from _my_ state. Meanwhile, in _both_ states, it creates increased sales and hence jobs which are filled by people who pay sales taxes, income taxes, property taxes, gas taxes, excise taxes (over half of what you pay for insurance is excise taxes btw), etc. etc. etc. It is to the states long term advantage to not charge sales taxes and create jobs. The online sales taxes is a short term solution where states will fill their coffers quickly but, it will reduce the number of jobs and hence taxpayers in the long term.
So, when online sales taxes get put in place and you are paying an extra 6-8% for your online orders, just remember to thank Amazon
Yea. That's what they like to tell you. That is except for the fact that the Feds have already spent all the Social Security money.
Fyi: There is no such thing as a "lock box". The Supreme Court has ruled that it is illegal for the Federal Government to set aside funds. Everything goes into the general fund for our politicians to spend on their pet projects.
Economically, today, children are a terrible idea. It made sense once, when children were a retirement plan - the only means of support when you get too old to work. But we have social security now.
Ummm.... You do realize that Social Security only works by taking from the younger workers and using that to pay for the older (retired) workers. If there are not enough younger workers then that leads to collapse which is where Social Security is at now. Of course, there is an easy fix which is to simply say you don't get SS until you are a member of the oldest N% (say 5%) of the population so there are an adequate number of workers to support the older retirees. (When SS started, there were 19 workers for every person collecting benefits.)
If you view having children simply as an aspect of social engineering (which it isn't as I believe families are far more than that), then there will surely be repercussions when the only people having large families are the poor and uneducated while the educated "sit it out" so that they have a little extra money to go on vacation with.
Concrete becomes stronger under compression. There was some experimentation among the smaller nations of the world a few years ago to build inexpensive submarines using concrete hulls since concrete has such good compressive strength. There is no reason why concrete wouldn't make an excellent storage container.
As I said, it is equally as bad if a Republican does it as a Democrat. If the government wants shares in a company, they should buy the shares from the shareholders at current market rate. Even at that, it is doubtful whether taxpayer funds should be used to purchase shares in public companies (in effect nationalizing them.)
I hope they win their lawsuit. If only the shareholders and bond holders of GM would do the same. What a massive money laundering scheme.
UAW supports Obama
Obama takes over most of GM shares screwing the bond holders (mostly retirement funds) in the process
Obama gives most shares to the UAW
UAW waits six months and sells the shares
Each of these steps were covered in the regular media but, for some reason I have yet to see an article putting all the steps together. If you think this is an anti-Obama thing it isn't as it would be equally as terrible if a Republican did it.

It is of course a translation of Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. That is what took a year to copy.

It isn't one system v.s. another. The current system is deceptive as well. The point still holds.
