In the UK notes have bars which are florescent under UV light. You don't need to take time looking at all the secutity features you just wave it under the note checker to look for the glowing bars which takes seconds.
From the article "Each active loudspeaker contains amplifiers for a total of 2500W (!) output using B&O's patented ICEPower concept."
They appear to be using the consumer Hi Fi method of calculating power output which the first number you though of time ten. It seems unlikely that a system that had an rms or even peak output of this would only have a maximum volume of 108 DB spl. Professional pa speakers such as those from D&B or Meyer have much higher SPLs at much lower wattage. They also sound better and cost a hell of a lot less than 8000 euro. For instance the d&b c7 has a maximum SPL of 136 DB at one metre which is four times louder.
The sound support in linux is ok if you are not
using anything too wierd it works out the box with distro's like mandrake and has done for ages. Even newer hardware like the audigy card I have is usable with a bit of tweeking. This is not just a linux thing to get my original yamaha soundcard to work under win 98 was a nightmare.
Smart ass features like 5.1 and eax would be nice but isn't really necessary for most of the work i'm doing.
The Register has an article which disects the
proposal here . It would be fairly pointless to install mobile phone towers in a country when 60% (bbc stats) of the people are dependant on aid handouts to survive. The only reason for this is a vain attempt by Qualcom to get their technology used somewhere other than in the US.
Err. What makes you think that small arms would be any use against goverment forces. All those ak-47 assault rifles didn't do the taliban forces any good when the USAF were carpet bombing them from 50,000 feet. The 'we might need guns to ensure our democracy' argument is fairly silly.

From the article "Just try losing this remote control!" I home it has a homing device on it cause my sofa would still eat it for breakfast.
