  1. Re:Mike D on EFF To Appeal Court Order Vs. Subway Hack Demo · · Score: 1

Oh, I guess I should read more thoroughly. They were the three students that were going to present at Defcon. Well, they should get A's for the clarity of their report.

  2. Mike D on EFF To Appeal Court Order Vs. Subway Hack Demo · · Score: 1

I just want to say that having read Exhibit 1, I applaud the authors for writing a very succinct and readable account of the vulnerabilities of the MBTA system. It seem implausible to me that anyone (even the pointy hair types) could read that assessment and not fully comprehend the situation at hand. It makes me wonder who Zack Anderson, Russell Ryan and Alessandro Chiesa work for. I'm sure Google will tell me.

  3. Hard to believe... on Space.com's Top 10 Space Movies of All Time · · Score: 1

I think this top 10 list only promulgates the ubernerd philosophy. I cannot see how The Right Stuff, a film based on the reality of our golden age of space could possibly be left off this list. Sure Star Trek is a great series of films but it's so far removed from reality. Sure my cell phone resembles a tri-corder but all of that was done on some Hollywood set. The Right Stuff is the real stuff and it should certainly be given the credit it deserves. Boo hiss space.com.

  4. Wasn't this what PCS was supposed to be? on BT's Converged Wi-Fi/Cell Phone · · Score: 2, Informative

I thought a while back when PCS was first coming out that it was supposed to stand for "Personal Communication Service" and it was going to offer a way to hook up to your home phone system. Basically when you were at home you would be connected through your land line like a normal portable phone and then you would roam onto the network when you were away from home.

I still can't see the purpose of this unless you get bad reception from home.

Can somebody please explain why IBM is making everything a WebSphere something or other? WebSphere Micro Environment? What does this have to do with the Web? I'm guessing just about zip. Ugh

If you've ever dealt with DirectTV customer service, this line from the DirectTVDSL FAQ sums it all up: "DIRECTV customer service does not have any information." I love it.
